We had the pleasure of spending 4 days studying with Jean Anne Zollars, DPT, who is the one of the top pediatric birth trauma manual therapists in the US. We felt amazing spinal cord mobility and brain activity increase in spina bifida babies after decreasing the cranial pressure with mobilizing the cranial sutures, fontanels, and connective tissue around the spinal cord. What an amazing experience!

Just finished an amazing and intense 3 days studying arteries of the abdomen, spine, and pelvis in Ayr, Scotland. After day 1 of releasing tensions around my own arterial branches to the liver, spleen, stomach, and pancreas, I woke up with my mid back pain gone! As our abdominal aorta lies just in front of our vertebra, any tensions, twists, or restrictions along the arterial branches can pull our bones right along with it. Disc problem at L4-L5? At this level, the aorta bifurcates in two to go down our legs. Most L4-L5 problems can be prevented by releasing arterial tensions and rotations at this area and by improving the veinous return from our discs through our veinous system.

Fall/Autumn is the season of the Metal element, which is represented by the Lung and Large Intestine organs. This picture from French anatomy textbooks, shows 3 ligaments that allow our lungs to hang down from our neck and first rib. If any of these ligaments are tight, or in spasm, then we will have a constant pull of our head to rotation or side bending, and of course, pain. These ligaments are commonly a problem in babies born with torticolis, wry neck syndrome where the infant's head stays turned to one side or they cry in pain when forced to turn their head to the difficult side. Treatment of these ligaments through Jean Pierre's teachings is very gentle, painless, and quite a beauty to experience, as the ligaments release their tension. If you have tried chiropractic or massage, acupuncture which might have only provided short termed relief, then you might need treatment on the lung itself, which Jean Pierre Barral has taught in his visceral manipulation courses. Once the lungs have full mobility, in the surrounding pleura to the heart (mediastinum), diaphragm (pleuralcostal recess), and ribcage, we have much more energy, more optimism, and more enthusiasm for the wonders of the world. Cheers to 22 more days of fall before we welcome the winter solstice!

This video is wonderful to show how important our veinous system is in our head. Many headaches and neck pain arise when our veins are compressed from tight surrounding tissues which doesn't allow good veinous drainage. The arch seen in this video, the Falx Cerebri wants to be supple, elastic, and wants good movement forwards and backwards. Often, from trauma it is rigid. Rigidity prevents veinous drainage. If Gonzo, Valerie, Frances or myself perform work on your head, often we are "freeing up" constrictions around the veins in your head so you can keep bringing in fresh blood, while flushing out the spent blood resulting in clear thinking, free range of motion, and a lightness in your head with no neck pain and no headaches.

Here's an amazing study which correlates digestive disturbances early on in life leading to Parkinsons. The study follows a large population of people who had constipation and/or other digestions problems and then had their vagus nerve severed. If you read the study, please don't think of the vagus nerve as the "culprit". The vagus nerve communicates the conditions of the digestive system to the brain. By treating the digestive system and then treating restrictions along the vagus nerve, it is very optimistic to think we can truly make a difference in preventing brain disorders!

According to a new study, Parkinson’s disease could begin in the gut and spread to the brain via the vagus nerve. Share on TumblrPocketPress ThisEmailPrint
