Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund The Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund educates and advocates to protect and advance sexual health We are a 501(c)(4), not-for-profit organization.

We engage in educational and non-electoral activity including legislative advocacy, voter education and grassroots organizing to ensure that Mainers have access to comprehensive reproductive and complementary health care services in settings which preserve and protect the essential privacy and rights of the individual. Through our PAC, we engage in electoral activities including endorsement and ca

mpaign support for candidates running for state office who support Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund’s mission, and who believe that politicians should not be involved in a woman’s personal medical decisions about her pregnancy. Lawmakers in Washington, D.C. voted to “defund” Planned Parenthood through Trump's Big Ugly Bill by banning Planned Parenthood from being reimbursed for non-abortion services it provides patients on Medicaid.

This means that Planned Parenthood and all the essential health care services it provides—birth control, cancer screenings, testing and treatment for STIs, and more—are at risk, even in Maine.

As strong as Maine's laws are, our laws mean nothing without access to care.

Right now, we need you to make your voice heard!

We need Gov. Mills, a longtime ally and champion of reproductive rights, in this fight as we navigate the latest attack on Mainers' ability to access the health care they need, when they need it.

Lawmakers in Washington, D.C. voted to “defund” Planned Parenthood through Trump's Big Ugly Bill by banning Planned Parenthood from being reimbursed for non-abortion services it provides patients on Medicaid.

This means that Planned Parenthood and all the essential health care services it provides—birth control, cancer screenings, testing and treatment for STIs, and more—are at risk, even in Maine.

It can be dizzying to try and keep track of everything going on in the news right now.

It's true the reproductive care is under attack, and we're doing everything we can to fight back.

The Big Ugly Bill passed by Congress and signed by President Trump this month "defunds" Planned Parenthood by prohibiting the organization from being reimbursed for non-abortion services provided to patients on Medicaid.

Right now, it's important to remember that Planned Parenthood of Northern New England's health centers in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont are committed to providing care to anyone who needs it, no matter what.

If you are on Medicaid, you can still receive care at a PPNNE health center.

Clegg joined leading providers and advocates from around the country to discuss the federal Right to Contraception Act and to convey the devastating impacts of President Trump's reconciliation bill, which "defunds" Planned Parenthood by prohibiting the organization from receiving reimbursements for non-abortion services provided to patients on Medicaid.

The budget bill passed by Congress this month includes a provision to "defund" Planned Parenthood by prohibiting the organization from receiving payments for services provided to patients enrolled in Medicaid.

Because of this decision, 1.1 million patients’ health is at risk across this country, including patients in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
