For the past year I have proudly served on the board of Mt. Scott Learning Center and I am so excited for our upcoming fundraising event, "𝗣𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵: 𝗔 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝘁. 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿”.

Mt. Scott Learning Center is a place where Portland-area high school students that do not thrive in the traditional high school setting can find the stability and support they need to become healthy, successful citizens. The "𝗣𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵" event will help fund the new Youth Center Project and ensure more kids in the community have a safe place to learn and grow.

It’s going to be a fun night at Columbia Edgewater Country Club with cocktails, great food, a silent auction and a chance to win a Maui Vacation!

I am incredibly proud to serve as a 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 for the 𝗠𝘁. 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿, an extraordinary alternative high school that meets students exactly where they are.

It was an honor to see 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘅𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗠𝗗, and 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗺-𝗘𝗱𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 showing their support for these students as well. 🤝

One of the most important things I talk to patients about is prevention! 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 often develops quietly but the good news is screening can detect problems early - like precancerous polyps.

For most adults screening begins at age 45, or earlier depending on personal or family history. Taking care of your health isn’t just about treating illness - it’s about staying ahead of it!
