Welcome to the world, baby Lucas! 🐣

On a warm, balmy summer evening, Lucas was lovingly born into his parents’ hands, in the tub at home.

You may recognize his mama and his cute striped sleeper from when his big brother Marcus “graduated” from Alma—the very same one Lucas wore in his honor.

A quiet, beautiful way to carry his brother’s love into this new chapter. ❤️

There’s nothing quite like the first moments of meeting your baby. This beautiful birth took place at Alma in the Lily room. If you’ve had a chance to meet Annabel this summer, consider yourself lucky!

She’s a nursing student who has her sights set on midwifery one day, and has spent this summer interning with midwife Janelle.

We’ve been enamored with her gentle demeanor, bright personality and her excitement to learn. She’s headed back to school, but we’re looking forward to seeing what she does in the future!

Then vs now! This is Ava, midwife Janelle’s lovely daughter pictured cleaning the birth center. She started helping mom at 8 and now works at Alma for real! We are so grateful for you Ava ❤️

This is what Janelle had to say in the original post from 2016:

When I was a kid my mom would occasionally take me to work with her and give me jobs to do.
It taught me that 1) moms work (hard!) and 2) a strong work ethic.

Ava loves helping out at Alma Midwifery...she was particularly concerned about the tub “in case a baby needs to come be born in it!”
