The Equine Thoracic sling forms the connection between the forelimbs and the body.

Nestled between the forelimb and the rib cage, the brachial plexus lies protected. The integrity and function of the thoracic sling is essential to the function of the entire body. Restrictions or dysfunction of this area can restrict the nerves of the brachial plexus, restrict range of motion of the forelimbs as well as the hindlimbs, and cause imbalance throughout the body.

Hello everyone,

I’m honored to announce that I’ve taken over ownership of West Winds Equine Massage. I’ve gained so much through partnering with Sabina over the past year. It’s my pleasure to take the reins and provide the quality care and consistency that you’ve come to know.

I’ve been fortunate to be around horses my entire life and have been a certified equine massage therapist since 2016. I’ve competed in three-day eventing for the past twelve years and managed an eventing barn for seven of those years.

Thank you for your trust and support. Please feel free to reach out anytime.

Best regards,
Kayde

Dear WWEM clients and friends,

After over eight years of serving the equine community, it is time for me to take a step back and retire from equine massage therapy. I am confident that my business partner, Kayde, is the perfect person to continue my legacy. Kayde is a phenomenal practitioner, with years of experience and a deep love for horses.

I want to thank each and every one of your for your trust and loyalty over the years. It has been an honor to be a part of your horses’ wellness journey. I have had the pleasure of getting to know you and your horses, and I am grateful for the memories we’ve made together.

I am very excited to watch Kayde step into the role as business owner. I am confident that she will provide the same exceptional care and service that you have come to expect from me.

While I am retiring, I look forward to staying connected with you all. Thank you again for your support and partnership over the years. It has truly been a joy to be a part of your horses’ lives.

With gratitude,
Sabina

We are thrilled to announce Kayde’s choice for continued education this year. I personally cannot wait to see the results!

Read more about Kayde’s thoughts below:

Did you know that horses don’t have clavicles (collarbones)? Unlike humans, horses don’t have a bony attachment for their front limbs. That’s where the thoracic sling comes into play! This apparatus secures the forelimbs to the body and provides support for 60% of their weight.

The neck and shoulders are a common area of tension which can cause restriction and lack of forward movement. I’m excited to be continuing my education with the Balance Through Movement Masterclass to improve your horses thoracic sling function!
