Our Teacher Trainees are heading into their final weekend (!!) and are about to teach their very own first class 🤯🥹🤩😳🤗  For the past 8 weeks, they’ve dug deep and learned much, scribbled down more notes than one can count, taught unfamiliar concepts, excavated dark corners of their insides, realized their own light and potential, made mistakes and picked themselves—and each other—up again and again.   And now they’re ready to launch 🚀 This weekend 13 incredible individuals will teach their very own first full-length class, their very own creation from start to finish! And in YoYo fashion, we ask A LOT. A themed class with intelligent sequencing and inspiring messaging all set to a personalized soundtrack for a true mind-bendin’, body-stretchin’, peace-providin’ yoga experience!  Shout out to the mentors walking step-in-step along their journey. Syd, , , grateful for your guidance, wisdom and unconditional support. 🙏🙏🙏

HERE WE GO AGAIN🤰BABY BOY COMING SEPTEMBER 💫

If you haven’t heard or haven’t seen 😆, here’s our official announcement! Our family is growing, and we can’t believe how incredibly blessed we are to welcome in more life and more chaos 🤪 into our trio.   20 weeks in, so we’re 1/2 way there! We’ve been busy little bees getting all of our ducks in a row here at the studio. Come August, we’ll be on leave through the end of the year with appearances at our anniversary party in August and holiday party in December (with 2 babes in tow!).  But for now, here’s what you need to know!   David and I are passing the torches on our weekly classes. Next week is our last class until our return in 2025. So come see us. AWAKENED HEART 💖 This weekend marked the 2nd immersion of our 300hr Teacher Training and the first time many of these incredible souls experienced the magic of Kundalini Yoga.

They went in open and ready with a slight bit of trepidation and a whole lot of wonder. They came out changed.

🏋️‍♀️ Through powerful movements, ones that make you dig deep only to realize just how strong and capable you really are…

🧘‍♀️ Through long sits of meditation, pranayama, mantra and mudra…

🗣️ Through raising their vibrations in chant…

💃 Through dance…

👁️ Through eye contact and sharing and listening…

📝 Through reflection and journaling…

They found connection—the heart of Kundalini Yoga.

These ancient practices are designed to help us go in and in and in. By pushing us far outside our comfort zone, we become raw, we become real. We find clarity. When we’re stripped down, we can feel compassion for all beings; a trust in the way things are and the way things have been; an awakening to the oneness of everything.

Thank you to this crew for being willing to step into the unknown. And to Wah, words cannot express our gratitude for bringing this life-changing practice to our Teacher Training and to YoYoYogi. Your impact ripples far and wide and we are humbled by your teachings.

YoYos, we introduce to you our Spring 2024 Teacher Trainers! 💥

We just wrapped week 1 and I’m already in awe of this group’s eagerness, openness and readiness to dive in head first.

It’s a courageous step to take this teacher training and willingly place oneself in the arena. We see you, salute you and promise to support you every step of the way.

Teacher Training is truly a journey of a lifetime. Week-by-week, we peel back layers of ourselves as we explore this practice as wide as it is deep. Utilizing the tools yoga has blessed us with—from movement to breath, mindfulness to its moral code—we come back home to our true selves and remember how to live fully and authentically.

It’s a privilege of a lifetime being part of each individual’s unique journey. I know I speak for all of the trainers when I say we are humbled and honored you have chosen to trust us on your path.

Beginning with the 4p class on Wednesday, you will now come check-in on the 1st floor (Down Dog Studio) before headin’ on up to practice on the 2nd floor (Big Dog studio). In the immediate, we’ll have cubbies and changing rooms and places for your things.

In the near future, we’ll have community space to catch-up with friends, cozy nooks to read a book, MAT STORAGE and more!

This change gives us

Almost the end and just the beginning! As we head into our final weekend of our Fall Teacher Training, I am met with a mix of emotions. 🥹

BUMMED that our time together is over. This group is truly something special. Insightful, honest, present, supportive and o, so fun. Our weekends have been filled with laughter as much as with learning. Our dharma circles have been rich with curiosity and discovery. Our posture breakdowns have been met with an openness to re-learn all we know.

EAGER for this weekend when each of these remarkable humans will teach their very first class(!!), a feat that seemed near impossible just 8 weeks ago. It’s one of my very favorite weeks of the whole year. Watching trainees grow into teachers and share what they have learned in the ways that resonates most deeply with them is truly something special to witness and be part of.

EXCITED for what’s to come. This is their first class, not their last. This is the beginning of their story, not the end. Whether or not they ever “teach” another yoga class in the way we normally conceptualize it, this group of seekers are now all teachers.

This training changes us. It asks us to live more aware, more aligned. And once we feel that, it sticks and informs how we live from this point forward.

We call it the ripple effect; and I feel HONORED to be in their sphere and feel their ripple. What a privilege to be part of their individual and collective paths.

Here’s to our final days together and the first steps in this journey of a lifetime. 👣💫

FULL ROOM 💗 FULL HEART

I've been in reflection all week as I watched sign-ups for Thanksgiving Day. Classes are full and so is my heart. I'm left a little stunned to be honest, o-so-grateful and searching for the right words.

It wasn't all that long ago that it seemed YoYo's days were numbered. And yet today, we filled Big Dog mat-to-mat once again.

How did we get here?

The answer to this question is what I am most grateful for this year.

I am grateful for this COMMUNITY 🥰 Thank you for giving us a reason to keep showing up, for believing in us always; for your enthusiasm and the life you infuse into our sanctuary.

I am grateful for this TEAM 🙇‍♀️ Our teachers and staff so full of passion, sincerity and heart. Like the lotus flower, this crew is blossoming into something beautiful from the murkiness of the past. I am humbled that they've chosen YoYo as their home.

I am grateful for this PRACTICE 🧘‍♀️Where would we be without it? It's the foundation upon which everything else stands.

I am grateful for my FAMILY 💫From the beginning to the end, they are my everything.

May my actions reflect the immense gratitude I feel in this moment. May we show up today and everyday with appreciation for the abundance all around.
