Hey there!
My name is Chrystall, the Woman behind
Sovereign Birth Midwifery Services
My journey into the birth world began in 2011 as a surgical technologist within labor and delivery.
Over a 14 year span I have supported hundreds of women as they brought new life into the world.
Whether that was in the way of a belly birth or a vaginal birth.
I have witnessed the teeniest babies take their first breath and some babies born never to take one.
I have witnessed women journey through labor for days and some birth within hours.
I have held the hand of countless women in this space of birth and every birth, every new life, every mama, every family holds a special place in my heart.
In 2016 I began to unlearn what I had been taught about birth, in 2019 my eyes really opened and in 2020 my journey into physiological birth began.
In 2022 I obtained education to become a Birth and Postpartum doula. It was then that I realized Midwifery and supporting Women outside of hospital was where my true passion lived.
I began my studies as Midwife, following 3 local midwives.
Each of them having their own unique way of supporting women. Each gifting me knowledge that I take forth into my own practice.
My training has taught me so many things.
It has humbled me
It has taught me to always be student, always open to learning
It has taught me to be present in the moments outside of birth
It has taught me to soak in the time I have with my family and feel honored to be welcome into the space where one is growing.
It has taught me to prioritize my health so Im in a place of abundance.
It has taught me patience.
It has taught me trust.

When I’m not supporting Women you will find me hiking with my family of 5, tending to my aspiring homestead and planning our next big adventure!
