We had a "claw-some" day, thanks to a very generous donation! A few of our lucky residents enjoyed huge lobster rolls from Petey’s Seafood & loved every bite followed by a scenic ride by the beach. 🌊☀️🦞 We're still hanging on to every last bit of summer!

🌟 This month our residents took their first bike trip with The Seacoast Wheelers through beautiful Portsmouth! 🚴‍♀️💨

Their wonderful team of trained volunteer “Pilots” pedaled our residents along the beautiful streets and views of Portsmouth, giving everyone a chance to feel the wind in their hair and see the city from a whole new perspective. One resident later told us “I felt like I’m a kid again!”
The Seacoast Wheelers provide these 40-minute bike rides completely free of charge, with safety volunteers leading and following each ride. On-bike volunteers make every ride special, connecting personally with our “Wheelers” (residents) and creating such joyful moments!!
We were able to take 9 residents this time and can’t wait for 9 more to experience this next month! 🌟

🌟August Resident of the Month – Medford “Sonny” Conley! 🌟

Sonny lights up Edgewood with his big smile, quick wit, and kind heart. Always ready with a joke and a laugh, he brings joy to everyone around him. You can find him soaking up the sunshine outside, spending time with others, and bonding with every dog that crosses his path, Sonny is truly a bright spot in our Edgewood community.🐾☀️💛

August Employee of the Month - Alissa Collins!

The Sun Shined on the Edgewood Center when Alissa Collins, Registered Dietician walked through our doors – truly a ray of sunshine! Alissa is a highly competent Dietician who works with our residents and their families to ensure our residents’ nutritional needs are met and that our residents are satisfied with their meal choices. Managing this for nearly 150 residents with unique needs and preferences is a challenge Alissa approaches with an air of positivity that is infectious. Alissa is truly a part of Team Edgewood as she is just as much a part of our care planning team and as she is the food service department team. Our residents are lucky to have Alissa onboard and so are we as I guarantee you that your mood will lighten when she is present! 🤩

Another beautiful day at Odiorne Point State Park! 🌞 We were so grateful for the gorgeous weather, perfect for a picnic lunch and a little kite flying. An extra bonus was watching all the campers and kids enjoying the day too. 🪁🍉💛

What an amazing afternoon! Our Style for a Smile Fashion Show was a huge success, with residents, staff, family, and friends all taking part. We had an extra-large crowd and so much great energy in the room.

Whether dressed up in something classic, creative, or just fun. Our models really shined, and it was so special to see everyone cheering each other on!

Thanks to all who participated, helped behind the scenes, or simply came to enjoy the show. It was such a fun day at Edgewood, and we’re already excited for next time!

❤️July Employee of the Month - Martha White❤️

After 35 years of dedication to Edgewood and hundreds of residents, Martha White is retiring in July. Martha has worked as an LNA, staff scheduler for 10 years (never wore the same dress twice) and many years as an MNA in which her extreme knowledge of signs and symptoms, lab values, medications and their side effects and general nursing judgement has earned her the title of Dr. White. She never hesitates to lend a hand when needed. She is thorough and demands the best for the residents in her care. Martha is always welcoming to new staff and residents and brings joy and fun to our workplace!

🌟 July Resident of the Month – Sam C! 🌟

Sam was nominated by both residents and staff for his warm personality and friendly smile. Whether he’s relaxing in the living room, enjoying the sunshine outdoors, or greeting others throughout the building, Sam has a way of making everyone feel welcome.

Affectionately known by some as “The Ambassador of Edgewood,” Sam is a big fan of Bingo, live music, and scenic rides on our bus. He’s always up for a good conversation and is a familiar face at nearly every event.

We’re lucky to have Sam as part of our Edgewood family. Be sure to say congratulations when you see him!

Today we enjoyed exploring a beautiful display of colorful produce, herbs, and flowers as well as making our very own homemade butter! 🐄💪 It was quite a workout!
