Pamela D. Martin, age 72, of Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026. Born in Portsmouth to Therman and Velma (née Large) Martin, Pamela lived a life dedicated to her family and community. She worked as a cook at Bob Evans and Frisch's for most of her career, where she found great joy and pride in her work. Pamela was a member of the Portsmouth Eagles and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed simple pleasures, including time with friends and family, NASCAR, and playing cards.

Pamela was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ronnie Martin, as well as her step-mother, Liz Martin.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Johnna (Brian) Jones of Wheelersburg, her grandchildren: Shyann (Dylan) Mullins of Portsmouth, Elizabeth VanBibber of West Portsmouth, Nathan (Emma) Jones of Wheelersburg, and Nic (Mikaela) Jones of Franklin Furnace; as well as her eight beloved great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Karen Horsley of New Boston.

Services for Pamela will be held on Tuesday the 13th of January, from 12:00 - 2:00 PM, at F. C. Daehler Mortuary.

Deidra Irene Fazzone, born on April 17, 1985, in Aransas Pass, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, in Portsmouth, Ohio, at the age of 40. A devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, Deidra will be cherished and remembered for her boundless love and generosity.

Throughout her life, Deidra embraced every role with grace and passion. She married her beloved husband, Alex Fazzone, in 2003 when they were just teenagers, sharing a beautiful journey together for 22 years. Deidra was the proud mother of her two adored children, Bryce and Lilly Fazzone, whom she nurtured with unwavering support and warmth.

Deidra's selfless nature was evident in her daily life, as she consistently put the needs of others before her own. Her empathy and kindness created an environment where friends and family alike felt loved and welcomed. She was not only a beloved sister to Aaron, Bill (Opal), and John Coleman, but also a cherished friend to many.

A passionate soul, Deidra found joy in art, reading, music, and video games. She cherished the simple pleasure of spending time with her family, often preferring cozy movie nights at home over going out. Her laughter and light-hearted spirit will be deeply missed.

In this time of remembrance, let us come together to celebrate Deidra's legacy-one of love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald E. Adkins, who left us on January 7, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on November 30, 1942, in Grayson, Kentucky, Don lived a full life in Portsmouth, Ohio, where he was a beloved member of the community.

Donald worked as a laborer and mechanic in the construction industry, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly demeanor. He had a passion for country music and loved nothing more than sharing good tunes and good times with his buddies and family. He often found joy in the simple things, whether it was a lively gathering with family or a quiet evening listening to his favorite songs.

A proud member of the American Legion in Kentucky. He is survived by his loving children: Jerry (Jill) Adkins, Randy Adkins, Tammy Woodruff, Tracy Fallon, Renada "Kay" Bashum, Donald Lee Adkins, and step son, Jesse Karnes, six grandchildren and many great grandchildren, who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Laura (Nee Scott) Adkins, five sisters, four brothers and three grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be held to celebrate Don's life Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 1:00 PM, at Haverhill Cemetery, 1674 Old US 52, Haverhill, OH 45636.

As we remember Donald E. Adkins, let us carry forward his spirit of kindness, companionship, and appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Peter Muhlbaier, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who left us on January 2, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on September 30, 1958, in Gloucester City, NJ, Michael lived a life full of adventure, joy, and laughter, deeply cherished by all who knew him.

Michael proudly served in the United States Navy from 1976 to 1980, where he achieved the rank of E6. During his service, he earned numerous commendations, including the Navy Expeditionary Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and Second Good Conduct Award, and became a skilled technician through his education in shipboard firefighting and electrical maintenance.

After his military service, Michael became an accomplished engineer, dedicating many years to Sun-Coke, where he used his talents to innovate and create. He was a passionate and tech-savvy individual, always eager to explore the newest gadgets.

Michael's adventurous spirit was evident in his love for travel, especially on his motorcycle. He took memorable trips, including a cherished ride to Texas, where he made lasting memories with friends and family. A true lover of life, he was known for his infectious laughter and his ability to spread happiness wherever he went.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Tammy Muhlbaier, his stepson Cory Lavey of Minford, OH, and his daughter Michelle (Donnie) Slovak of Waco, TX. Michael also leaves behind his beloved brothers, Butch Muhlbaier of Florida, Paul (Jackie) Muhlbaier, Joe (Gail) Muhlbaier, Art (Lucy) Muhlbaier, and his sisters Melody (Dave) Rosenburg, Arlene Muhlbaier, all of New Jersey. He cherished his nephew, Michael Muhlbaier of Atlanta, GA, who shared his name and enjoyed many long talks with him. Michael was also a proud grandfather to Ryan (Kylie), Cody (Rachel), and Nicholas, and a great-grandfather to Jeremiah, Zachary, and Kyson. He is preceded in death by his sister Anna-Jane Muhlbaier, while both of his parents, Sebastian and Dorothy Muhlbaier, have also passed.

Michael's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched with his kindness and humor. He brought joy to everyone around him, leaving a legacy of love and laughter.

Rest in peace, Michael. You will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.

Gerald (Jerry) Raymond Bryant Dolley Logan, 86, of Greenup, Kentucky, born June 18th, 1939, in Belfast, Maine, passed away December 29th, 2025, at SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth, OH.

Jerry was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the 314 Artillery Battalion. He was known for his marksmanship. Jerry was also a craftsman, a classically trained violinist, an artist, an animal lover, and enjoyed working on any type of machinery. His grandchildren would often say: "If Papaw can't fix it, it's broken".

On September 1st, 1966, he married the love of his life, Mary Dillow, who preceded him in death after 50 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Wallace and Levonia Dolley, birth mother Edna Cottrell Bryant Wall, two sons, Gerald Raymond Bryant II and Erik Lael Bryant, one daughter, Lisa Bryant, one grandson,Adhem Ennakoa, as well as his beloved furbabies: Peter, Reba, Sophia, Becky Sue, Pup, and Monkey.

He is survived by one son, Gerald "JR" Bryant II, of Ashland, KY., three daughters; Cathy (Andy) Simpson of Deering, NH, April (Tom) Graf of Franklin Furnace, OH, and Heather Bryant of Lexington, KY; 12 grandchildren: Toni, Jennifer, Jessica, Johnathan, Joey, Lee, Penny, Alex, Abrahem, Isaac, Hala, Sophia, his brother and sister in law, Burleigh and Debbie Wall.

And one last furbaby, "Pickles".

Ronald Ramey, former Scioto County resident, went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2025, at the age of 94. Ronald was born on January 13, 1931, to his parents, Andrew and Dorothy (née Aeh) Ramey, in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Ronald spent his professional career in construction and found his greatest joy in the outdoors. He loved hunting, especially elk, as well as boating, fishing, hiking, downhill skiing, and ocean diving.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his loving wife of 73 years, Juanita (née Ball) Ramey. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Jim and Bill Ramey, and his great-granddaughter, Kaylee.

He is survived by his son, Randy Ramey, of Seymour, TN; his daughter, Sandy Ramey, of Severance, CO; and his four grandchildren, Roy Ramey, Rebecca Russell, Renee (Larry) Shook, and Cindy Valentine. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Gabe, Kaylee, Jacob, Cody, and Nathan; and his sisters, Marcie Mahan, of Berea, KY; Donna (Lowell) Lykins, of Columbus; and Cinda Thompson, of Ava, MO, and sister-in-laws, Janet Ramey of Sevierville, TN, and Joyce Ramey of Lucasville.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Scioto Burial Park.

Jerry Thomas Franklin, 84 years old, longtime Scioto County resident, went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2025, at Piketon Nursing Center in Piketon, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family.

Jerry was born on September 18, 1941, in Portsmouth, to the late Jesse and Ruby (Nee Ramey) Franklin.

He was united in marriage to Sharon (Nee McManus) Franklin for sixty years when she passed on September 18, 2018. For most of his adult years, he was the Associate Pastor and Choir Director at several churches. His love for the Lord was a testimony to others. His love for his family, especially his children and grandchildren was immeasurable. He enjoyed fishing, eating, singing and his cup of coffee at the kitchen table while reminiscing with others.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded by his loving wife, Sharon, seven siblings, one son, Jerry Matthew Franklin and three great grandsons: Ethan, Cash and Criden.

Jerry is survived by his two sons: Joe (Barbara) Franklin of Portsmouth, Sam Franklin of Lucasville, one daughter Becky (Dave) Caseman of Waverly, one sister, Sue Roberts of Firebrick, KY, nine grandchildren: Aaron Franklin, Joevelyn (Paul) Morris, Marisue Hobbs, Sharanna (Derek) Leeth, Casey (Jerrica) Sword, Denny (Heather) Caseman, Sam (Brandi) Franklin II, Joey (Hope) Franklin, Jerrid Franklin and twenty-six great grandchildren.

The family extends special thanks to the staff and residents of Piketon Nursing for the care and kindness shown to Jerry in his final years.

Graveside Service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8580 Gallia Pike (County rd 1), Franklin Furnace, Ohio.
