Edmarc’s Fall Fest was OUT OF THIS WORLD!

Kids and families enjoyed a spacey good time Woman's Club of Portsmouth playing games, snacking on candy, and dancing the night away.

Thanks to Peter Decker Children's Charity for sponsoring this event, the YVC Hampton Roads for volunteering, and the Knights Templar for honoring kiddos with Medals of Courage.

🌊Who knew witches rode waves?

👻Last Saturday, Owl Creek saw an influx of pointy hats and brooms as the Coastal Virginia Paddlers set out on their 2nd Annual Witches and Warlocks Paddle. In the spirit of treating and not tricking, they turned this fun into a fundraiser, collecting over $1,600 for Edmarc!

👏Shoutout to Joni Cormier, Chris Murphy, Breann Killman, and Leslie Basset for organizing this event and Debbie Lou at Ocean Eddies Seafood Restaurant for coming on board as a sponsor and donating proceeds of paddlers' meals to Edmarc.

Fall Fest was OUT OF THIS WORLD! 🪐

🛸 Last week Woman's Club of Portsmouth, Edmarc families gathered for a galactic good time. They enjoyed an alien dance party, starry photo shoot, astronomically fun games, and a spaceship’s worth of candy.

👽 We’re so grateful to Peter Decker Children's Charity for sponsoring this year’s event. Also, shoutout the the Knights Templar for honoring our kiddos with Medals of Courage and The East Coast Alliance of Cosplayers for allowing Captain America and Black Widow to make a special appearance.

❤️ Our hearts (and bellies) are full after a special luncheon held for the wonderful souls who made Edmarc’s expansion into the Williamsburg area possible. Giuseppes Italian Restaurant welcomed the Edmarc family into their home and provided a bountiful meal to express our gratefulness. Edmarc has been caring for kids and their families in the Hampton Roads area since 1978, and now, because of the generosity of faithful supporters, we are able to extend these services to even more families.

🦋 We also unveiled our new video, “Marcus’ Legacy: Stories of Hope and Inspiration”, highlighting multiple families’ stories and the ways Edmarc has made an impact on them. We cannot express how thankful we are to Consociate Media for turning this pro bono request into a passion project they put their entire hearts into.

💜 We extend our deepest and heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us yesterday and to everyone who has joined Edmarc along the journey of hope. The vital in-home care, bereavement programs, and volunteer support we provide would NEVER be possible without a passionate and compassionate community behind us. It means the world to us and…more importantly…to the Edmarc families.

🩷🩵October 15th marks Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day - a day now recognized by the “Wave of Light”. As a way to honor the precious little ones that have died, participants light a candle at 7 p.m. local time to create a 24-hour wave of light to celebrate these sweet lives.

🕯️Join Edmarc tomorrow in remembering these precious babes and honoring their families that still grieve their absence.

Edmarc is a national leader in pediatric home-based hospice and palliative care whose mission is to ease the trauma of a child’s illness or death and to reduce the disabling effects of pediatric illness, loss and bereavement on families. The Fall Festival brings all of their families who are well enough to attend together and offers them a fun-filled family event.
