Today is April 2nd, World Autism Awareness and Acceptance Day ♥️
Many do not choose to “celebrate” autism itself. Instead, you can take a moment today to celebrate your autistic loved ones for who they are. Celebrate their personalities, their triumphs, and the love they share and we return.
We can support, empower, and include one another while acknowledging the barriers and hardships many face. To every individual on the spectrum and every family walking this journey: your strength, your voice, and your experiences matter. Please know you are not alone, there will always be a community out there who understands your day-to-day.
That community also deserves celebration. Those who share their advice and listening ears, those who volunteer their time, and those who choose careers and vocations that strive to improve the quality of life of our families and loved ones on the spectrum.
This would be a wish for the world: Let’s choose patience over judgment, kindness over assumptions, and advocacy over silence. Not just today, but every day.
