We gave out two scholarships at last weekend’s Walk for Autism! We are so proud, we want to give a special shoutout to them and those who make our scholarships possible. As part of the application, applicants were asked to submit a small essay on, “What would be your perfect pet?”

Olivia is continuing her education at Shawnee State University. Her favorite classes so far have been ceramics. For her essay, she wrote about her own kitty being her perfect pet!
Adam is starting Penn Foster’s Wildlife/Forestry Conservation program. He wrote on his perfect pet being a gorilla!

It is due to our community’s support we are able to provide everything we do. From scholarships, our scout troop, social events, sensory movie days, a headquarters to rent, and more, we are grateful for every ounce of support. We want to thank the Portsmouth Eagles Post 4285 and Ladies Auxiliary for their kindness and overwhelming support. Thank you to the American Legion 471, AMVETS Post 95 and Ladies Auxiliary, and VFW Post 9942 for their longtime support of our children and goals. We appreciate such a dedicated community!

🚓💙 Ohio’s Blue Envelope Program 💙🚓

The Scioto County Board of Developmental Disabilities has free Blue Envelopes available at the Scioto County Fair all week — August 4–9! 🎡🐄

The Blue Envelope Program is designed to help individuals with disabilities communicate more effectively with law enforcement during traffic stops or roadside interactions.

💡 How it works:
• Keep the Blue Envelope in your vehicle glove box.
• If stopped by law enforcement, place your driver’s license, registration, and insurance card inside the envelope before handing it to the officer.
• The envelope alerts officers that you may:
• Show signs of anxiety or nervousness due to bright lights or noise.
• Need extra time to respond to questions.
• Benefit from clear, simple language and instructions.
• It also provides emergency contacts and space for important personal notes.

📍 Find us in Building 4 during fair week to get your Blue Envelope.
💙 It’s free, simple, and could make a big difference.
