I am thrilled to participate in a round-table discussion on non-opioid pain management after . This invitation is based on our commitment to reducing opioid consumption after and and the tenets of our AVATAR rapid recovery program.

Today we experienced something amazing. We introduced JOURNAVX (suzetrigine) to our AVATAR protocol. This is part of our pursuit to with low to no opioids. Al 5 of our outpatient patients received 2 pills prior to surgery and all 5 left the surgery center with excellent comfort and ZERO opioids.

Today we also had a patient travel to us from Ontario to get a Jiffy Knee with thr Restor3d (Confirmis) custom knee implant and our AVATAR recovery program. This is what I call the trifecta. He left the center with 125 degrees of flexion already.

It takes a team to deliver consistent good results. This is my team at the ambulatory surgery center where we perform as an outpatient surgery.

This patient came to see us because he is interested in getting back to work as soon as possible. The muscle and tendon sparing approach can lead to faster recovery. He travelled over state lines from MA to NH to this procedure.

He also was eligible for our bundle payment program which is an all-inclusive, 90-day episode of care all bundled into one claim that includes all intraoperative and postoperative care. It is a fixed cost plan that we manage and it costs 40% of hospital-based care with the same techniques, implants, care and outcomes.

Our bundled payment plan is eligible for patients with Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim, Cigna and direct contracting platforms like Lantern, Saavos, Coral, Valenz, HealthMe and others.

March 2 a Million is a program we are proud to participate in. It is a national initiative to reduce opioid use around joint replacement. The challenge is to go through the recovery with 10 opioid pills or less.

This patient did her Jiffy Knee with 0! Her name will go on the Wall of Fame with the goal of reaching 1 million patients who accomplish this. Here she is a 3 weeks with 120 degrees of flexion and minimal swelling.

Our AVATAR program along with the Jiffy Knee muscle and tendon sparing approach is the ingredients to maximize the chance of success.

Yesterday we had a patient travel 2800+ miles from Spokane WA to our surgery center in Stratham NH for a Jiffy Knee with the Conformis, patient-specific knee implant made by Restor3d.

Each Conformis implant is designed to match the patient's native anatomy (size, shape, orientation, alignment). The idea: if it fits perfectly, it should feel more normal.

All other off-the-shelf implants (including those put in robotically) come in stock sizes with a shape that is designed to address the average patient. This requires the surgeon to make some compromises to best fit the chosen implant to the unique features of a patients knee arthritis.

Coupled with our AVATAR program, this is a trifecta:
1. muscle and tendon sparing surgical approach (Jiffy Knee)
2. custom made implant designed to replicate each patients unique knee shape (Conformis)
3. concierge patient care and navigation throughout the journey (AVATAR)

We are currently the only practice in the US doing the Jiffy Knee approach with the Conformis implant. Our goal: LESS PAIN, FASTER RECOVERY, BETTER OUTCOMES.

We are proud to participate in this movement and bring it to our patients. March to a Million was started by Dr. Andrew Wickline, a renown joint replacement surgeon in New York who has dedicated his career to advancing techniques that lead to less pain and swelling after joint replacement.

The challenge of this movement is to use 10 or fewer opioid pain pills during .
