Dannika - Dannika Ross - is substitute teaching Yin Yoga (60 Minutes) this month (3/4) at YOGA ON YORK ✨

Yin is the feminine principle: dark, passive, receptive, reflective, withdrawn, cool, introspective. Yin yoga was developed to pe*****te deep into connective tissue expanding flexibility and aiding healing while stimulating the nadis or meridians to loosen energetic blockages and increase energy flow. Starting with delicious yin openers then transitioning to a more active flow with standing postures and vinyasas. Class will end with a yin pose to close the practice.

The beginning of Blue Harmony Yoga

I kept asking myself whether I wanted to live by the ocean or by a lake and I couldn’t decide which body of water I loved more. It took me awhile to realize I didn’t have to choose between the two but rather share my love for water in all it's forms and all it’s expressions. From snowboarding and paddle boarding, to waterfall chasing and fresh water fishing, I opened myself to find peace and harmony in everything water.

Blue Harmony Yoga stemmed from this concept of creating harmony within our aquatic environments.

I inspire my Yoga students to cultivate genuine self-expression and develop compassionate self-awareness through yogic breathing, conscious movement and mindfulness practices while simultaneously illuminating the importance of environmental conservation and care.
