9 ways teens ask for help without using words
(most parents don’t catch this early)
1. They suddenly spend more time alone, not because they hate everyone, but because being around people feels too much.
2. They get irritated over small things because there’s something bigger sitting underneath that they don’t know how to explain.
3. They say “I’m fine” quickly because telling the truth feels too complicated.
4. They stop doing things they used to enjoy because even fun feels like effort.
5. They sleep more, sleep less, or always seem tired because their mind may not be resting.
6. They avoid eye contact because being seen too closely feels uncomfortable.
7. They become quieter than usual because silence feels safer than being misunderstood.
8. They ask for reassurance over and over because they don’t feel steady inside.
9. They act like they don’t need anyone because needing people has started to feel risky.
You don’t have to have the perfect words.
Sometimes noticing… is where it starts.
