Greetings Friends,
I am not sure if you are aware, but the Portsmouth Town Council voted 4-3 to install a disc golf course at Glen Park on the night of September 8, 2025 with a two year probationary period. Besides posing a significant liability for all those who use the park, it causes direct interference for those of us who engage in recreational activities there. In fact, the current design would directly conflict with our Tai Chi and yoga classes. I am asking for your support along with that of others in the area as we work together to reject this proposal. If you share my opinion, that the Town Council should say no to disc golf at Glen Park, please sign the petition link below and spread the word. Thank you and I hope to see you soon!

With Love,
Rev Shelley

Our Story

We are an inclusive, life affirming, interfaith, online and local community on Aquidneck Island in Rhode Island. We are navigating some structural changes due to Covid-19, like many organizations. At this time we have closed our indoor studio and await word on outdoor classes for the Summer. Our globally accessed address is www.sacred-center.org. Stay tuned and connected!

Our goal is to offer programming that is deeply nurturing for people of all ages, all genders, in every kind of body and from every spiritual orientation. At this time we offer live streamed yoga classes in partnership with Common Fence Point, yoga on demand via our YouTube channel, Zoom book study groups, uplifting posts here on FB as well as spiritual counseling and commUNITY prayer gatherings.

Wherever and however you connect with us, you will be welcomed into an atmosphere and experience of kindness, love, compassion and acceptance. We hope to offer you encouragement on your journey.
