🎄 Spreading the Cheer Throughout the Year 🎄
As we reflect on this holiday season, we are filled with gratitude and joy for the incredible generosity and support we’ve received from our wonderful community. 2024 has been a season of blessings beyond measure, and our residents have been warmly wrapped in blankets of love, laughter, and sweet treats. Thanks to you, all of our residents have what they need, and we are so thankful for your kindness. ❤️
We are thrilled to share that our storage is completely full, and our residents are incredibly well-cared for with all the thoughtful donations we’ve received. We are deeply grateful for your generosity and support. Thank you to our community, we have everything we need to continue providing the best care possible.
As we look ahead to 2025, we are excited to continue spreading the cheer throughout the year. We want to ensure that every organization, group, and individual who wants to bring joy to our residents has the opportunity to do so! By spreading out donations and volunteer efforts across the entire year, we can better fit all of this wonderful cheer into our schedule, making sure our residents continue to feel the love, joy, and support they deserve. Here’s a look at how we can work together to make each month special:
January – Start the year with warmth and comfort! We would love to see donations such as beautiful centerpieces to brighten our dining rooms or a catered mac n’ cheese dish for our "Heroes & Mac" event. It’s a perfect way to begin the year by showing our residents that they are cherished.
February – Valentine’s Day is for love and sweet treats! If you’re looking to spread the cheer, consider donating catered Valentine’s desserts or bouquets for our residents.
March – Shamrock Pub Crawl Fun! March is the time for our Shamrock Pub Crawl, and we would be grateful for donations of non-alcoholic beer to make this event a success for our residents. It's a fantastic way to celebrate the spirit of St. Patrick's Day!
April – Spring is in the air! Consider donating beautiful spring flowers to brighten up our residents’ spaces. Whether they are placed in our community areas or gifted to residents, they bring joy and color to the season.
May – Celebrating our mothers! Mother's Day is a special time to honor our residents who are mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers. You can donate flowers and cards, bringing a personal touch to this special occasion.
June – Honoring fathers with gifts and memories! June brings Father's Day, and we would be so grateful for donations of cards, gifts, or even items for our annual Father’s Day car show. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the men who have shaped our lives.
July – Rev up the excitement! If your group is interested in creating a buzz, consider hosting a motorcycle rally for our residents. The roaring engines and camaraderie would be a fantastic way to bring the community together to celebrate summer.
August – Music and entertainment to lift spirits! We would love to host live music or entertainment for our residents in August. Whether it’s a local band, a solo performance, or a group of entertainers, your time and talent would be a gift to our residents.
September – Fall fun is on the way! A fall carnival would bring excitement to our residents, filled with games, activities, and festive treats. Volunteers and donations for this event will ensure that everyone has a great time as we celebrate the season of change.
October – Oktoberfest fun! In the spirit of Oktoberfest, you can help by donating pretzels and non-alcoholic beer for our "Oktoberfest Pub Crawl." It's a wonderful way to bring the festive atmosphere of the season to our residents!
November – Honoring our veterans and giving thanks! November is a time for us to honor our veterans with special Veterans Day celebrations, including centerpieces for the dining area and heartfelt cards. Thanksgiving is another opportunity to give thanks for our residents, and donations for Thanksgiving centerpieces would help make the season extra special.
December – A festive Christmas celebration! Christmas will always be a time of cheer! Donations for our Christmas celebrations can include anything from decorations to gifts and treats, making this a magical time for everyone involved.
Important Note: Every donation and volunteer opportunity needs to be approved by Kady Aamot, our Activities and Volunteer Coordinator, to ensure that everything aligns with our residents' needs and our schedule. Additionally, all volunteers must complete the proper paperwork before participating. We encourage groups to plan early and volunteer throughout the year to help us accommodate these wonderful efforts in a way that’s meaningful and manageable for everyone.
We are truly blessed to be part of such a supportive community, and we look forward to filling 2025 with continued cheer and joy for our beloved residents. Thank you for making this holiday season one to remember. We are grateful for each of you and can’t wait to see what wonderful things the new year will bring. 🌟
With gratitude,
The Idaho State Veterans Home - Post Falls Team
