Kelly Falkner- RYT 500 Certified Instructor

Kelly began practicing yoga online at the suggestion of a friend, fell in love with it, and has maintained a dedicated home practice for years. In January of 2020, she decided to pursue a 200-hour RYT certification at Trailside Yoga and Beyond in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and came away from the experience with an enthusiastic determination to share “the b

ig yoga” with others. She recently completed her 300-hour certification and is registered with Yoga Alliance as a 500 HR certified instructor. Kelly has been a teacher since 2002, first as an English teacher in the public school system, then as an EAST facilitator at Kiamichi Tech in Poteau and now as Employment Facilitator at the same campus. Her philosophy of teaching has always been focused on student growth, empowerment, and self-reflection. Her goals in the classroom have been to inspire positive change and to create a space where students feel supported and respected. Her approach remains the same in her work as a yoga instructor.

4. Lower your shoulders away from your ears.

Here’s a good short calming practice you can do at home while we are out of class this next week (or any time). It’s with one of my favorite yogis ever…Yoga With Adriene - hope you enjoy!

It is quite easy to be overstimulated these days, I am not going to sugar coat it. Overstimulation can happen when we experience too much noise, sensory overload, racing thoughts, intense emotions, or overwhelming environments. This is when our bodies tell us that our nervous system is in a heightened state. When things feel like too much, yoga teaches the body to come back to balance.

This practice is here for you when you need to be guided back to equilibrium. Together we will flow through slow, intentional movement to shift the nervous system back to a parasympathetic state, also known as “rest & digest.” Reconnect with your body, relieve tension, and find a safe place to land. I’m here for you.
