While most departments at EOMC are powered by teams of many, some operate with a single dedicated professional — and yet their influence is felt hospital-wide. This month, we’re spotlighting three one-person departments whose roles are as expansive as their titles. From elevating our public image, ensuring regulatory precision, to safeguarding quality and compliance — these individuals prove that one-person teams are not only integral to daily operations, but just as valuable as the largest departments.
📊Jennifer Manifold wears many hats in her solo department, overseeing Quality, Risk, and Compliance for the entire hospital and clinics. Her role is multifaceted: collecting and analyzing data, tracking CMS guidelines, supporting department managers, and proactively improving patient safety and outcomes. She’s the coach behind every quality initiative, helping departments elevate care and meet high standards. Her manager says:“Don’t let the one-woman department fool you on the weight and responsibility of this department! Quality is integrated into EVERY facet of our organization. The three CMS Guidelines and Oklahoma State Health Department Manuals for our hospital to follow is over 1800 pages — and that doesn’t include our Rural Health Clinic accreditation requirements, Radiology accreditation, or laboratory requirements. Jennifer also monitors compliance changes and meets regularly with managers to both identify quality needs and praise jobs well done. She stepped into this role with a little understanding of quality from her lab background, but quickly found herself in a new world of requirements. She does this job with finesse and grace, and I think she does a great job getting the best out of our team. We are so happy she’s in this role and is a phenomenal analyzer and coach.”

📣At the forefront of EOMC’s public image is Marketing — a one-woman department led by Amy Lomon. Amy is responsible for shaping how the hospital presents itself to the community and staff. From organizing events to managing social media and public-facing materials, she ensures that the hospital’s mission and values are clearly communicated and consistently represented. Equal parts strategist, storyteller, and event ringleader, Amy strengthens EOMC visibility, connection and trust and does so with creativity and heart. Her work builds bridges between EOMC and the 48,000+ residents of the community we serve. Additionally, she manages our social media campaigns to community events with creativity and heart.
Through consistent communication and meaningful engagement, she has helped reshape how the community sees EOMC — reversing outdated perceptions and building pride in the exceptional care we provide. By showcasing the hard work and dedication of our staff, Amy turns daily excellence into a compelling story of quality, growth, and trust.
“It’s all about relationships,” she says — and that shows in everything she does.

📋Behind the scenes but absolutely essential, Credentialing is handled solely by Officer Justin Plummer. He is responsible for verifying and maintaining the credentials of all medical providers. This work not only ensures regulatory compliance and patient safety — it’s also foundational to hospital revenue. Without properly credentialed providers, the hospital cannot bill insurance, making his accuracy key to covering costs like payroll and operational expenses.
His manager, Tiffany Griffis, CEO says: “Justin came into this role not knowing anything about credentialing, but he has been exceptional in this department. This department is crucial in the risk management of our organization. He is the super sleuth of the hospital. We ask him to dig into the provider's backgrounds to ensure they are quality candidates for our organization. He picked up on provider credentialing so fast that we then gave him insurance credentialing next. If you don’t know about this part it is crucial in how EOMC is paid. He must follow up on our insurance contracts to make sure they are not expired and we are paid what we are supposed to be paid. Justin was a great fit in this department and does a fantastic job in this role. We are so happy he decided to join our EOMC team”
