Introducing Dr. Jessica Howard!

Dr. Howard will be joining Bethesda Pediatrics in September, 2025. She comes to us with over 10 years of experience caring for children and families in Maryland and Virginia as a general pediatrician. Dr. Howard is a board-certified pediatrician and Virginia native. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Virginia Tech and went on to receive her medical degree from the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg. She completed her pediatric residency at Inova Fairfax Hospital

She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to every child she sees. Dr. Howard has a special interest in supporting new parents and is trained as an advanced lactation specialist to assist with breastfeeding challenges and the transition to motherhood. She is also a Red Cross Blood Program Leader and is passionate about the importance of blood donation, both organizing local drives and donating regularly herself. Outside the office, Dr. Howard enjoys spending time outdoors with her two sons, running on local trails, and traveling. She also remains an avid Virginia Tech sports fan, Go Hokies!

Dr. Howard is available for appointments beginning Wednesday, September 3, 2025. We are so excited to welcome her to our team!

We will be OPEN for urgent sick visits on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 8:30am to 12pm with limited appointment availability. We are otherwise open normal business the following week of July 7. A Message from Dr. Deutsch:

After 30 deeply fulfilling years at Bethesda Pediatrics, I will be retiring from the practice at the end of the summer. My husband and I are relocating to the Eastern Shore of Maryland. My last day in the office will be August 27, 2025.

It has been a privilege to care for children and support families through every stage of growth and development. I am profoundly grateful for the trust, warmth, and connection I’ve shared with so many of you over the years. To all the patients and families I’ve had the honor to know—thank you.

As I step into this next chapter, I do so with a full heart and deep appreciation for the extraordinary journey it has been to be a part of Bethesda Pediatrics. It goes without saying that Bethesda Pediatrics is well positioned to thrive into the future, thanks to our outstanding younger doctors who bring fresh energy and vision, alongside my long term partners who carry forward the legacy that has made the practice a trusted name for over 50 years.

There will be a physician on call via the answering service at 240.638.9739 for emergency needs while the office is closed.
