HU is a loving, accepting, fun, people-focused community which includes individuals of all ages, disabilities, faith backgrounds, their families/caregivers and friends. All are truly welcome and an equally important and valued part of the community. Every member of the family participates whether it is a traditional or surrogate family as in the case of a group home. We have two monthly Sat. Night
Alive events at Julius West MS from 5-7pm; one for those with disabilities 15 years and younger and their families and the other for those 16 years and older and their families. At these events, we interact and make new friends as we play adapted, engaging “sports” and lively games, dance, do arts & crafts, and eat pizza together. An optional simple Bible lesson with contemporary Christian music and prayer is offered in a separate room but not required as part of the Sat. Night Alive experience so that people of all faiths will feel comfortable attending. It is an opportunity for the whole family to engage in a unique, fun, high-energy, encouraging and supportive atmosphere. It’s social, it’s fun, it’s inspiring, it’s for the whole family, and it’s just a little different. I invite you to come and experience HU firsthand.
