Hi everyone and happy fall! π I am in the business of asking you all the questions, so I figured I'd take a moment and answer a couple I've gotten from you recently...with a sprinkling of things I just feel like sharing
Q: Have you gotten outside recently?
A: Yes! I have had the good fortune of spending lots of time out in the crispy colorful fall air. I've been canoeing, hiking, woods walking, and this past weekend I just sat outside listening to the breeze and taking in the smell of fall!
Q: How much schooling did it take to become an acupuncturist?
A: I received my associates and bachelor's degrees, and then completed 4 years of acupuncture/herbal medicine schooling to receive 2 master's degrees. That's a total of 8 years of college and I'd repeat it in a heartbeat! π€
Q: How much sleep do you get?
A: Somewhere between 7-8 hours of actual sleep per night, and I'm a lover of naps! Sleep is one of the best ways to heal and fuel our bodies, it's where we recover and reset and something I'm not willing to compromise on π
Q: What is your favorite type of food?
A: After much thought, if I had to pick one, I'd say Mediterranean. It's well balanced energy, delicious, they don't skip the bread or the dessert and I always feel good after. Honorable mentions to Asian (authentic Chinese, pho, ramen, veggies and a meat with a tasty sauce) and Mexican. Tacos will forever be one of my go-to meals!
Q: What do you do for fun?
A: I love to be outside, barefoot if possible (as this picture shows) alas it is now the season to start wearing shoes and protecting the energy of our Kidneys. I also truly enjoy reading, mostly fiction although some non-fiction makes its way into my hands π If you've been to the office, you've seen my gorgeous pup Willow, and teaching her new tricks has been a highlight of the last few years!
If you ever have any questions about acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, or the acupuncturist behind Sunshine Acupuncture please feel free to ask!
