It's International Friendship Day!

Friendship is a beautiful thing and research shows people with good friends live longer and healthier lives. However, when a friend dies many feel they don't know how to grieve this loss, or if they even "get to."

You can absolutely grieve over the loss of a friend, through death or otherwise! Check out this article from our friends over at What's Your Grief on grieving a friend!

No surprise, when a friend dies, we don't "get over it". We learn to live with it. It may get different, it may get easier, but it is always with us.

Our business partners Community Bank, N.A., TJ Toyota, Donaldson Funeral Home/Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, SeaComm and NuMed for Children believe in helping us guide each journey with compassion, comfort, and care.

With their support, we guide over one hundred patients on the Advanced Illness Management (AIM) journey. This palliative care program is not Hospice. The providers visit patients in their homes to provide pain and symptom management for chronic conditions. Additionally, patients have the support of the Program Manager who assists with patient assistance programs and getting patients connected to other home based supports.

To learn more about the Advanced Illness Management (AIM) program, call 315-262-0861!

Support from generous sponsors like Community Bank, N.A., Donaldson Funeral Home/Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, SeaComm and NuMed for Children allows us to help our community in so many ways.

The When Grief Comes to School program is made up of annual workshops for school counselors and social workers as well as on site crisis response when there is a death within a school community. This program has also created two interactive grief journals for children to use.

In addition to our business partners, this program is championed by a community advocate who works tirelessly to ensure children have the resources they need to be healthy grievers.
