"When you’ve lost someone you love – recently, or even years ago – the new year can bring on a tidal wave of emotions and expectations. The idea of starting over in the new year can feel unwanted or even just overwhelming."

Check out the article in the comments from Claire Bidwell Smith on grieving in the new year.

We are feeling very grateful this Christmas Eve 💙

This was our first year taking part in Lights on the River at Lisbon Beach, and it truly took a village to make it happen. Local businesses donated supplies, and generous people donated their time, skills, and muscle to bring this display to life. We could not have done it without you!

A huge thank you to:
• Triple A Building Center for donating the trees already built on pallets
• Skip Edie, our board president, for bringing the trees to Lisbon
• J P Building Supply Inc. for donating the plywood for the mountains
• Waddington Hardware and Building Supply for their support
• Ruth, our CEO, for donating her time and talents, using power tools to build the mountains and archway
• Potsdam Agway for donating extra pallets
• White's Lumber in Gouverneur and Ace Hardware in DeKalb Junction for donating Christmas lights
• Tractor Supply in Ogdensburg for donating a roll of plastic
• Tractor Supply in Potsdam an d Massena for donating paint brushes
• Walmart in Ogdensburg, Massena, and Potsdam for donating gift cards to help with the project
• David Peggs from our board for meeting us at the beach and helping set up the display

Thank you to everyone who stepped in to help. This first year meant a lot to us, and we are already looking forward to bringing memories of loved ones to Lights on the River again in the years ahead!
