Eugene R. Moran

Eugene “Bob” R. Moran, 86, formerly of Gilbertsville and Phoenixville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Southeastern Veterans Center, where he made his home in recent years.

Bob honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy. Following his military service, he spent 32 years with the former Stroehmann facility in Conshohocken, working as a mechanic until his retirement.

He enjoyed camping and found great joy in fishing and crabbing with his family, especially alongside his wife and grandchildren.

Those who knew Bob understood that he could seldom pass a yard sale without stopping.Bob also gave generously of his time, volunteering with the Meals on Wheels program and lending a helping hand in the kitchen at The Center At Spring Street in Boyertown. He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sumneytown.

Bob is survived by his children: Robert Moran and his wife, Chong, of Colorado Springs, CO; Carol Berringer and her husband, Robert, of Perkasie; Elizabeth Keytanjian and her husband, David, of Spring City; and Kenneth Gabel of Boyertown. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Matthew Moran and his wife, Malynda; Kyle Nock and his wife, Ceci; Brittany Cook and her husband, Steven; Nathan Uppole; Danielle Katsoufis and her husband, Demetri; and Kenneth Gabel and his wife, Mana. He leaves behind four great‑grandchildren—Mackenzie, Paisley, Zoe, and Elle.In addition, Bob is survived by two siblings: Gerald Moran and his wife, Joan, of Ronks; and Vera Gercules of Royersford.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 33 years, Charlotte (Smith) Moran, who passed on January 20, 2013. Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late Laura (Berg) and Matthew Joseph Moran. He was also predeceased by his siblings: Matthew Moran, William Moran, Loretta “Dot” Mudry, Virginia Moore, and Margaret “Peggy” Mason.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 12 to 1 p.m., with a service to begin at 1 p.m., at Warker‑Troutman Funeral Home, Inc., 726 East High Street, Pottstown. Burial with military honors will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories. Condolences may be expressed at warkertroutmanfuneralhome.com.

Bob will be remembered for his quiet generosity, his kindness toward others, and the unmistakable pairing of his smile and the baseball cap he rarely went without.
