In this video, I analyze the horrendous story of the Levite and his concubine in Judges 19 and the civil war in Israel that followed her murder, showing parallels to our current culture war. People have some strong opinions about Stranger Things including a subplot about the character Will's turmoil over his sexuality. As a therapist, I'm more interested in the coherence of Will having same-sex attraction and if the topic is treated accurately for its 1980s time period. In honor of my parents' birthdays (Dec. 16 and 17), I interview them to discuss Open Heart Ministry, their service to the homeless and displaced in Myrtle Beach, SC. Luis and Marilyn Rodriguez are chaplains with years of experience doing lay ministry and pastoral work, such as mission trips, prison ministry, helping people in addiction recovery, teaching ESL and GED training, and caring for the elderly.
