Here are a couple brief parts from my longer discussion with my friend Pastor Steve Mitchell of the Michael Tait (formerly of dc Talk and Newboys) homosexual predation scandal. The world wants to see CCM burn to the ground for not affirming Tait as gay. I want to see the CCM world offer true help and healing for the many artists who struggle with sexuality.

This is going to be a losing battle for the traditionalist side if their solution is focused only on the behavioral side of homosexuality (landing in either the Side B or Side Y camps). If there is no hope for transformation (from understanding and healing the emotional roots of SSA and sexual issues in general), then the church's disciplinary approach will ultimately embolden a "social justice" movement in the church.

On Friday, July 25th, YouTube removed my video from Feb. 6th, interviewing Dr. Joseph Nicolosi, Jr. about his recently published study showing how memory reconsolidation can reduce unwanted sexual arousal, and giving me a Community Guideline Strike for allegedly violating their "Hate Speech" policy. The social justice activists in Big Tech and social media don't want you to know the truth about therapy that can help people with unwanted same-sex attraction experiences. I submitted my appeal on Sunday, Aug. 3rd, and then recorded this video, going through YouTube's policies to show how I in no way committed "hate speech." By the time I finished recording, I received an email from YouTube with their decision on my appeal . . .

At 11:00pm Sunday, I submitted my appeal to YouTube for removing my video interviewing Joseph Nicolosi Jr. on the research he published on sexual arousal change. At 12:36am, I received this email from YouTube saying they've "carefully reviewed my content" and "confirmed" that it violates their hate speech policy. No example given. That video is an hour long. Did an actual human--on a Sunday night--review the full video that quickly?!

Do I have any recourse?

Hi everyone, I need your prayers! Last Friday, YouTube informed me they removed the video of my interview I did with Dr. Joe Nicolosi, Jr, discussing the research study he just published on the use of memory reconsolidation to change sexually arousing memories. They claimed it violated the "hate speech" community guideline and gave me my first channel strike. (They removed two other videos in the past, but they had given me only warnings before.) They gave no time stamps or examples of how this video contained "hate speech."

Because of the strike, I haven't been able to post all week on my PsychoBible channel on YouTube. Before submitting my appeal, I wanted to wait for the week to finish so I could inform all of my subscribers. I have one shot at an appeal. When I've previously appealed them removing one of my earlier videos, they doubled down on their decision very quickly. So, I urgently request your prayers before submitting my appeal for this video.

My channel is small and this video, though just posted this year, was growing to become one of my most watched. The data in the interview is a source of hope to so many people struggling with sexual attractions and behavior that do not align with their sense of self and their values.

My subscribers know I do not preach hate. I NEVER call for violence against any persons or groups. Period. I speak love, truth, and hope to sexuality strugglers. I could boost my reach and make a living off YouTube by just being a culture war commentator and get no opposition from YouTube. But it's those of us who offer hope for healing who face persecution, because that's what the Enemy hates. But we come to declare freedom to captives and light to those in darkness, to bind up the brokenhearted, undoing the works of the Evil One.

That all said, if you're a YouTube subscriber, please remember to also subscribe to my Rumble channel. I've been working all week on updating it since I was about a year behind on uploading videos to it. Almost caught up now.

Christian apologist Sean McDowell just recently released a short video describing how he would counsel a Christian with unwanted same-sex attraction. As a therapist who specializes in this topic, I want to supplement Sean's advice with guidance on how to go further in helping someone explore his/her SSA with curiosity and compassion, and hopefully heal what may underlie the SSA, as well as respond to pushback I receive from certain conservative Christians.
