LVHN nurses are strong. Six times strong! 💪 For the sixth time, Lehigh Valley Hospital, part of Jefferson Health, attained Magnet® recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)’s Magnet Recognition Program®.

LVHN is one of only 26 hospitals worldwide to be Magnet-designated six times. Magnet is the gold standard for nursing excellence, recognizing a hospital as one of the very best in the world.

At a Magnet hospital, the priority is on patients and families. Nurses who work in a Magnet hospital are compassionate, experienced, knowledgeable, educated and partner closely with other caregivers to provide safe, quality patient care.

Congratulations to our Magnet nurses! 🎉

For almost 10 years, Subhojit “SC” Chatterjee lived with ankle pain that made even the simplest things exhausting. Sleep was hard, grocery shopping was cut short and going out to eat meant heading home early.

After working with the pain management team at Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute, he found relief through spinal cord stimulation. Now he’s walking more easily, back on the golf course and enjoying life again.

Kayley Hertzog, BSN, HNBC, cares for patients in the neuroscience intensive care unit and has a passion for the holistic nursing program at LVHN.

She presented the 4-7-8 breathing technique that helps with stress reduction for nurses at the National Conference in Reno, NV. LVHN was recognized with the Award for Holistic Institutional Excellence, honoring our commitment to holistic care.

“Holistic nursing helped me step back and understand the ‘why’ behind what we do. We are treating more than an illness; we are treating the whole person,” Hertzog says.

At 13, Italia Rozina’s world flipped when a fall at school left her tibia broken in three places. Three months in a wheelchair and months of physical therapy later, she wasn’t sure she’d ever dance or run again. Now 15, she’s back to cross country, track, cheerleading and dance, stronger than ever thanks to the care and encouragement of Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute.

See how the right team helped her return to what she loves: https://bit.ly/4nSNYan.

Flavor doesn’t have to come with a side of salt. 🧂 High sodium intake can raise your blood pressure and increase your risk for heart disease and stroke, but small changes can make a big difference.

Dr. Joseph Perez shares tips on how to lower that risk. Try seasoning with lime, garlic, herbs and spices instead of extra salt. Your heart will thank you! ❤️
