Certified Peer Specialist
Are you a person with lived experience in mental health or substance abuse recovery looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others? Join our team as a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) and use your story to inspire hope and support to others on their recovery journey.
As a CPS you will serve as a compassionate guide and advocate for individuals navigating mental health or substance abuse challenges. Drawing from your own experiences, you will provide peer support, foster empowerment, and promote recovery within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Offer Peer-based support and mentorship grounded in your lived experience
Encourage individuals in recovery, helping them build resilience and coping strategies
Assist clients in accessing community resources and support services
Advocate for rights and needs of individuals in recovery
Promote hope and the possibility of recovery through role modeling
Work in a variety of settings such as recovery centers, mental health clinics, or community programs
Qualifications:
Must be a Certified Peer Specialist or currently enrolled in a recognized CPS program.
Personal experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for helping others and promoting recovery
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
