GLP-1s and bariatric surgery can both help with weight loss, but they work in very different ways. ⚖️

GLP-1s are prescription medications that act on your brain, digestion, and cravings. They help you feel full longer, make high-calorie foods less tempting and support steady weight loss while you’re on them.

Bariatric surgery, on the other hand, physically changes the structure of your digestive system. It changes the way your body feels hunger and fullness — and can even start improving type 2 diabetes in a matter of days.

Both options deliver proven results, but each comes with its own timeline, ongoing care, and lifestyle commitments.

But the best choice? The one that fits your health, goals and long-term plan. 🫶🏼📈🏃🏼‍♀️

This and knowing that taking care of yourself means more than just eating well or moving your body.

It’s checking in with how you feel 💭
Resting before you’re running on empty 🛌
Calling the people who feel like home ☎️
Saying no without guilt 🚫
And yes, having a little fun along the way 🎉

What part of care are you prioritizing this week?

Let’s talk about those “just one” moments.

Just one cigarette at the cookout.
Just one v**e hit on the porch.

It might not feel like much — but over time, it adds up.

Studies show people smoke more during the summer, and teens are more likely to start va**ng in late spring. Warmer weather, more social time and outdoor hangouts can make those “just one” choices easier to justify.

🚭 Even one cigarette a day can damage your lungs and increase your risk of cancer.
💨 Va**ng isn’t a safe alternative either.
🫁 Quitting completely is still the best choice for your long-term lung health.

Dr. Byron Patton, a thoracic surgeon and lung cancer expert, explains the science behind it — and how to take the next step.

Ozzy Osbourne didn’t just leave behind a legacy of music; he left behind a message.

After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, Ozzy continued to show up, speak out and do what he loved most. In July 2025, he gave one final performance in front of 45,000 fans and helped raise over $190 million with a portion of it going to Parkinson’s research.

His story is a reminder about the importance of understanding the signs and the progress being made in Parkinson’s treatments to help people live as well as possible. It can start with subtle signs — stiffness, sleep problems, smaller handwriting or changes you can’t quite explain. And the sooner you catch it, the more options you have to manage it.

Thank you, Ozzy, for showing us what strength looks like — loud, unfiltered and still rocking. You didn’t just raise the volume. You raised awareness. 🖤🎸🧠⚡️

Things you love to hear when your health system just…gets it. 💜

24/7 access to appointments and records. Care teams that actually understand you. The kind of care that feels like it was made for you.

Goosebumps? Yeah, us too. 💅

Why do UV Safety Month and mole checks go hand in hand? ☀️🤝

Because ultraviolet (UV) rays are the leading cause of skin cancer — and abnormal moles are often the earliest warning signs.

UV rays from the sun (and tanning beds) can damage DNA in your skin cells, causing moles to change in size, shape or color — and in some cases, signal melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer.

That’s why July’s focus on UV safety is the perfect time to do the ABCDE skin check. Learn how from Dr. D**g! 🔍

We all know the basics of heart health: eat well, stay active and get your cholesterol checked.

But did you know there’s another number that could reveal a hidden risk? 🚨

Sunny Intwala, MD, MBA, cardiologist and leader of the Nuvance Health Prevention Council, is raising awareness about lipoprotein(a) — or Lp(a) — a lesser-known marker that is not included in routine cholesterol panels and typically doesn’t respond to lifestyle changes.

Knowing your Lp(a) level could be the key to understanding your real risk for heart attack or stroke. 🫀

Preventive cardiology is about more than just the basics. It’s about identifying risks early and protecting your heart long before symptoms appear.

Learn more about Lp(a) and how to take charge of your heart health:
