Enjoy a gallery-like experience featuring local art, handmade items, youth affirmations from across Dutchess County, and an accessible golden hour walk through nature.

In collaboration with Vassar Environmental Cooperative, we invite you to join us today at Vassar Farm and Ecological Preserve from 4:30 PM–7:30 PM inside the barn and along the preserve trails. Complimentary tacos provided by Casa Del Flavors 🌮

Between Art and the Outdoors in celebration of mental health awareness as a collaboration with the environmental cooperative and our exciting new to nature program taking place at the 4 mile point preserve in the Catskills tomorrow we have such an exciting weekend of events and collaboration, but even so we are so happy to have our founder being honored at the heritage awards. This has been such a great year for The Brain And Body Coalition and we look forward to continuing to support our community from head to toe. 

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The 2nd Annual Heritage Awards will take place this Friday, May 15, celebrating women who continue to uplift, inspire, and move culture forward throughout the Hudson Valley.

Presented by K*t From A Different Kente in partnership with Mama La’s Food For the Soul and Charlia Frank, the event will feature a red carpet, awards ceremony, dinner experience, and community celebration in the heart of Poughkeepsie.

The event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Cunneen-Hackett Performance Theater, located at 12 Vassar Street in Poughkeepsie. Dinner will be hosted by PLAY and Mama La’s Food For the Soul at 188 Main Street.

This year’s ceremony will honor 12 women for their impact, leadership, resilience, and service within the community. Special honors including the Women Who Build Legacy Award and The Motherhood Award will also be presented during the evening.

Organizers describe the Heritage Awards as a night centered around culture, excellence, community, and giving flowers to women whose contributions often go overlooked.

General admission tickets are available, along with sponsor packages that include red carpet experiences, reserved seating, and dinner options.

A huge thank you to Millbrook Middle School Principal Stephen Cabello and staff members Jack Gilroy and Kelly Domino for inviting The Brain and Body Coalition (BBC) to participate in their in-school field trips and wellness initiatives. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with students and continue creating spaces where conversations around mental health, resilience, and well-being are welcomed and encouraged. 💚

At The Brain and Body Coalition, we believe in taking a proactive — not reactive — approach to wellness. Through our professional development trainings, workshops, and mini “It Is What It Is: Breaking the Barriers of Stigma” blast sessions, we help schools, workplaces, organizations, and community groups build healthier and more supportive environments.

This annual event is all about showing up for our community, and we were honored to be there celebrating wellness, connection, and mental health awareness together. A special thank you to Jenny for bringing joy and creativity through face painting — she is available for bookings and truly made the day extra special!
