Nestled on 200 rolling acres in Dutchess County, NY, Gopal Farm at Sprout Creek Farm has now reopened and is operating under proud owner, Nimai Pandit, the founder & CEO of Gopal Farm, a local New Paltz, NY-based regenerative farm organization. Gopal Farm at Sprout Creek offers a farm-based wellness education, completed with programming, an innovative model for Ethical No-kill Dairying, a Farm-ba

sed Education Retreat Center, a creamery, lodgings, and will an eventual spa.

“Our vision at Gopal Farm at Sprout Creek is foremost to develop a sustainable yet profitable model for no-kill dairy farms and integrate the theme of wellness throughout every touch point of the facility. Our farm-based education retreat center will include Farm Education, Wellness Education & Artist's Education. These education programs will be integrated with farming & environment, with a focus on young people & their parents, in two broad streams:

First to empower the community to be accountable for their health and learn how food & herbs are the best medicine for self-care against chronic lifestyle diseases, along with our key self-awareness practice, through the ancient healing modalities and sister sciences of Yoga Ayurveda (the Indian Holistic Science of life,) and meditation,

The Second is to inspire educate and motivate the community to be mindful and conscious about climate change, and adopt new regenerative agriculture & ethical ag practices. (And yes, our friendly farm animals from our New Paltz farm – cows, cashmere goats, Indian runner ducks, chickens, cats, dogs, and even Piggy – have relocated to their new homes already. Gopal Farm at Sprout Creek Farm is a not-for-profit organization. We are a place where a community of experienced teachers and farmers live and teach year-round. They help children develop creativity and ingenuity while making a point of teaching children to see the value and rewards of real work in a nurturing and supportive environment. We’ve found that the farm setting is a wonderful way to teach environmentally responsible ways of caring for animals, working the land, and living a simpler, more environmentally integrated way of life.

At Gopal Farm, we plan to start making Raw Milk available in the next few months. This is the first stage in developing a model for a full-scale Ethical Dairy and creamery to help meet the needs of our community and conscientious consumers seeking high-quality dairy products using ethical practices. We can no longer eat and drink by cruelty. We will proudly showcase our no-kill process. how and why our cows live well into old age, and the benefits of ethical dairy, through farm visits, and education programs to show the difference between industrial and ethical dairy practices.

We'd love to hear your views about Raw Milk. The benefits of unpasteurized, non-homogenized are well documented for lactose intolerance and overall health. Raw milk is a nutrient-dense food that contains easily absorbable nutrients that replenish vitamin and mineral stores in the cell. We will be regulated by NYS Ag & Market which will be testing our cleanliness and safety standards weekly. You the community members will also be available to tour.

But before we go further, as our active community, we welcome your views and thoughts.

How many of you would you be interested in getting Raw Milk weekly for your family?

Dear Friends,

Although current circumstances have forced us to suspend farm operations, the animals at Sprout Creek Farm will all be appropriately and humanely managed by our excellent farmer and his staff. We have always operated this way at Sprout Creek Farm. Any rumors to the contrary are false.

From SCF Farm Director, Sean O’Sullivan, "It is a priority to Sprout Creek Farmers that all animals are relocated to new homes and given the best care that local farmers can give them. All efforts are being made to ensure that the transitions are accomplished with the emphasis on animal safety, health and welfare. We have taken great pride ensuring that the animals have been very well looked after and that the care and attention we have given them will continue. As farm director, my plan is to relocate all animals to other farms, they are not being sent to slaughter. While we respect people’s opinions about the management of our animals, Sprout Creek Farm has a long and distinguished history of excellent animal care. This process will be no different.”

This process is well underway and being managed by our expert professional staff. Please understand the Farm is closed in accordance with New York State laws related to the COVID-19 pandemic. There is no public access to the Farm. Inquiries should be sent to farmer@sproutcreekfarm.org.

Please see our full statement : www.sproutcreekfarm.org

After many years of serving the Dutchess County community, Sprout Creek Farm’s Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to suspend Farm operations. Effective today, Sprout Creek Farm will be closed and will no longer offer educational and agricultural programming.
