‘My baby’s tongue tie was released, but they’re still struggling to nurse.’

This is a conversation I have with exhausted mamas almost weekly 💔

Here’s what many families don’t realize: successful feeding isn’t just about anatomy - it’s about nervous system function.
What controls your baby’s ability to feed:
🧠 Cranial nerves coordinate sucking, swallowing, and breathing
🧠 Upper cervical spine affects nerve communication to mouth and throat
🧠 Birth stress can create subluxations that interfere with these pathways
🧠 The brain controls everything - including oral motor function

Why some babies struggle even after tie releases: The physical restriction might be addressed, but if subluxations are interfering with the nerves controlling oral function, feeding challenges continue.
What we see when we address nervous system function:
* Improved latch depth and comfort
* Better coordination of suck-swallow-breathe
* Decreased clicking or fussing at breast
* Longer, more efficient feeding sessions
* Mama’s ni**le pain finally resolves

We work closely with pediatric dentists and lactation consultants because the BEST outcomes happen when we address both anatomy AND nervous system function together.

Your baby’s body wants to feed efficiently. Sometimes we just need to remove what’s blocking their nervous system’s ability to coordinate it. 💗

Not all feeding challenges are tongue tie!! Sometimes your baby's nervous system needs support to coordinate oral function 👶

Here's what many families don't know:
The cranial nerves that control your baby's ability to feed successfully emerge from the upper cervical spine and skull. When birth stress creates subluxations in these areas, it can interfere with the nerve communication needed for efficient oral motor function.

This doesn't mean tongue tie isn't real or important - it absolutely is! But addressing nervous system function alongside structural releases gives babies the best chance for feeding success.

What optimal feeding looks like:
✨ Deep, comfortable latch
✨ Smooth suck-swallow-breathe rhythm
✨ Efficient milk transfer
✨ Contentment during and after feeds
✨ Mama comfortable and pain-free

We love collaborating with pediatric dentists and lactation consultants because together we can address both the physical restrictions AND the nervous system coordination needed for successful feeding.

Gentle cranial and upper cervical work helps remove interference so your baby's nervous system can coordinate feeding the way it's designed to 💚

Today we honor the babies who left too soon and the families who carry them in their hearts forever 🕊️🕯

October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, and we want every parent navigating this grief to know: your baby mattered. Your loss is real. Your grief deserves space.

To the mamas and papas walking this painful journey:
Your body remembers what your arms never got to hold. The plans you made, the future you imagined, the love you already felt - all of it was real and beautiful and worthy of honoring.

What we want you to know:
Grief doesn't have a timeline. Some days will be harder than others, and that's okay. Your baby's impact on your life doesn't diminish just because their time was brief.
You're not alone in this. So many families carry this same heartache, and while that doesn't make it easier, please know there's a community that understands.

For those supporting someone through loss:
Say their baby's name. Acknowledge anniversaries. Don't be afraid to mention their loss - they're already thinking about it. Your gentle presence matters more than having perfect words.
We're holding space today for all the babies gone too soon and all the parents who love them still 💔

You're not alone. Today especially we hold space for you and your healing.
