It's really amazing how much you learn about something when you're thrown into it! Zoey has a date with her sweetie, Pete next wed. At the Timmer Gallery in Cody! He's a big boy (she likes them tall) and they have been smitten for awhile now. Pete has not met Emma yet... It will be like taking your little sister on a date no doubt. 🤣

I love going to the gallery. Brian and Betsy have created such a beautiful space and Brian's art is pretty extraordinary!

There's only so much that I can gather from these despite the fact that I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in Fort Collins. 😉 Maybe I didn't stay long enough. lol I was pretty emotional at the CSU clinic so we didn't really go through these while I was there. Below are Zoey's bladder & kidney images. From what little I have learned so far, it's my understanding that the bladder should appear as a dark and somewhat circular shape with clean edges....

Apocaps is a nutraceutical for dogs designed by Dr. Demian Dressler, DVM, author of The Dog Cancer Survival Guide. Among other ingredients, Apocaps contain luteolin, apigenin, silymarin and curcumin. Sorry for the delay in posts. Things just got really heavy and I needed to take a little break. Zoey is still acting just like her ol' self. She tires out faster now but that's really the only indicator that there is anything wrong. I have recently learned about something called "Anticipatory Grief". Well, we are heading back home tomorrow morning. They did all the diagnostics today at the CSU Flint Animal Cancer Center. The cancer has not spread to anywhere else in her body which is great. They said she was such a good girl today and very sweet. ❤️🐩❤️ She doesn't have a single tumor mass but rather her bladder is more lined with TCC (transitional cell carcinoma)....

It's confirmed now via BRAF test that Zoey's bladder cancer is TCC. Transitional Cell Carcinoma. So many websites say dogs will have about 6 months to live with it and she was originally diagnosed in october. I was told there were no real treatment options but so far I have her on a lot of natural treatments and honestly you would never know she's sick by the way she acts....

I just ordered this... again. Apparently the first one that I ordered on Amazon was last seen in San Diego so I'm waiting on the replacement. Hoping it gets here before I leave so I can read it while in Fort Collins at the CSU Flint Animal Cancer Center. I decided to get it after reading online about the importance of adding certain vegetables like broccoli and spinach to your doggo's diet and that got me interested. I'm not promoting the book because I haven't even read it yet, just wanted to share.

Warning ... Sentimental post 🥺
This girl holds my heart. She has a tumor growing inside of her and she still manages to be this amazing light in my life. ❤️🐩❤️ 😭

We went to Advanced Vet Care in Cody today for her BRAF urine test. It gets sent off to verify that she has TCC (transitional cell carcinoma). Not a cheap test, but necessary.

I googled it to find out how much p*e this test needs. Apparently I translated it wrong because they needed a lot more than I thought. AND it all had to go in the special cup within 15 minutes of leaving the dog and it's 4pm. Vet closes at 5.

Zoey is SUCH a trooper. First catch was good and pretty light colored. Second one was sketchy but she produced and it was a little darker. We gave her treats to try to make her thirsty but I think she was on to us. Third one was a hail mary in mach 10 winds with a staff member assisting with the catch and it was red. 💔 BUT she did it and they had JUST enough to complete the test and we got out of there before 5:30.

The staff at Advanced Vet Care are awesome!

Zoey had blood work and a chest x-ray today. The x-ray is to verify that the cancer in her bladder has not spread to her lungs and our vet said it looked clear. Thank God. I'm so very thankful for this incredible news today. Her blood work showed some issues with her kidneys so she's now on Hill's k/d Kidney Care food....

All I can say is, that our dog that doesn't have cancer should be getting massive preventative care out of all of this. We are focusing mainly on Zoey right now because of her bladder cancer, but we can't forget our sweet girl, Emma. All information provided is just me sharing what I'm learning on Zoey's cancer journey. I'm not a vet, just a dog mom....

On this journey so many people have suggested CBD oil to me for Zoey so here's what I found. Remember... I'm just a dog mom, not a vet. A study in mice showed that CBD slowed the growth of mammary cancer cells. And in 2018, researchers found that CBD increased survival time in mice with pancreatic cancer. Other animal studies show CBD oil has cancer-fighting abilities and can slow the growth of tumors....
