My friend Jodi sent me these beautiful flowers over the weekend from her garden. Little did she know that I was having a difficult day. The flowers and the thought of her sending them elevated me in ways I can’t convey in writing.
With the practice of Intentional living, small acts of kindness, such as giving someone flowers or a hug, are very important in creating and maintaining positive social connections. Our emotional well-being depends on this. I am reminded that gratitude is one of the greatest gifts you can offer yourself. What you focus on grows. So when you focus on the good things happening in your life, you bring more of them to you. A good tip is to be specific in what you are grateful for.
Gratitude and small acts of kindness easily make the receiver’s day wonderful but also increase the giver’s sense of fulfillment and connection. By spending time in her garden, harvesting flowers, and sending them through my daughter, Jodi is practicing intentional living. No matter how small. Please take the time to elevate someone's mood today especially yours by choosing to focus on gratitude for something you may consider small.
