Procedure Spotlight: Trigger Point Injection (TPI)

Do you suffer from tense muscles, neck pain, lower back pain, or tension headaches? A trigger point injection may be a solution for you! Trigger points are contractions or "knots" in the muscles that cause pain and sensitivity to touch or pressure.

During a TPI, medication is injected directly into the trigger point to alleviate pain and relax the contraction in the muscle. The medications used for this injection typically include local anesthetics to numb the area and corticosteroids to reduce inflammation.
