FDA recalls can be scary, especially when it’s our kids’ medicine!
Rest assured, this system is designed to keep you and your family safe & sound.
This morning the FDA issued a Class II recall (low chance of serious health consequences) on nearly 90,000 bottles of children’s ibuprofen after discovering in some bottles the presence of a gel-like mass and black particles. Check your bottles of children’s oral liquid ibuprofen to make sure your medication is safe. Affected bottles were manufactured by Taro Pharmaceuticals USA Inc. and have lot numbers 7261973A or 7261974A with an expiration date of 01/31/2027.
If you find that you own one of the recalled bottles do not panic! Simply throw away the affected bottle and go purchase a new one. Pharmacies will have been notified of this recall, and will have taken steps to ensure that any affected products have been removed from sale.
If you or your child have consumed any medication from an affected bottle, monitor for any new health concerns and contact a trusted healthcare provider if something seems wrong. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us here at Powell Pharmacy to speak to a pharmacist regarding any questions or concerns regarding this issue!
