For years we’ve been watching and are obsessed with this heron on our lake. It’s so majestic. The lake turns into a cove and wraps around the side property next to our house. That’s where the heron hangs out. Recently I’ve seen a second, slightly smaller heron that I’ve never seen before. I think it might be a female and the larger one a male. Breeding season is coming soon. We might see some heron babies!

Water crossing video 2 of 2 (since when can we not post more than one video at a time?!?!?!)
We had 3 water crossings. Going over the third water crossing and going uphill the first time was far more intimidating in person than the video shows. (See the next/other post because Facebook won’t let me post 2 videos at the same time 👎🏻) The video shows us coming back over the water going downhill and it was much easier.

Day 2/Night 2 was the best of the trip. Headed out at like 9 to do some overlanding/trail riding. We had 3 water crossings. Going over the third water crossing and going uphill the first time was far more intimidating in person than the video shows. (See the next/other post because Facebook won’t let me post photos and videos at the same time 👎🏻) The video shows us coming back over the water going downhill and it was much easier. We walked part of the Appalachian Trail. Made many stops to enjoy the scenery. Got back to camp at about 5pm for some fire grilled meatball subs and let the sky be our nightly entertainment.

First day started off not so great. We had a Jeep that wouldn’t start before we even left! However, got that fixed up and hit the road a little later than expected. Got to camp and had some dinner and set up sleeping arrangements in hurry because a storm rolled in. We fell asleep to the sounds of rain on the roof and thunder. It was quite the loud, wet, and windy storm. But nothing beats waking up to this view out of our “bedroom” window!

This is going to be our view for the next few days ⛰️

T minus a day and a half(ish) and we load this stuff up in our jeeps and head out. One tote for each jeep, plus a kitchen tote, food bag, and cooler. Just need to pack some clothes in the totes and we’re good to go! ⛰️🏕️🚙

In the hustle and bustle of daily life, finding a moment of peace can be truly transformative. One of the best ways to invite calm into your life is by embracing the soothing power of nature.
Take a leisurely walk in the park, hike a scenic trail, or simply sit by a tree and let the sounds of nature soothe your mind. As you immerse yourself in these natural surroundings, practice mindful breathing. Inhale the fresh, crisp air deeply and exhale all your tension, feeling the stress melt away.
Bringing nature indoors can also help create a serene environment. Consider adding plants, stones, and water features to your living space to cultivate a sense of tranquility. And don’t forget the simple joys of watching a sunrise or sunset. These moments remind us of the beauty and peace that nature offers, grounding us in the present.
Speaking of grounding, have you ever walked barefoot on grass, sand, or earth? This practice can help you connect with the Earth’s natural energy, promoting a feeling of calm and balance.
Nature has an incredible ability to bring us back to the present moment, providing a sanctuary of calm and clarity. Let’s reconnect with the world around us and find our inner Zen.

Trying to figure out our set up for the trip next week and decided that we probably won’t use it anyways 🤣. It’s a short trip and we just plan to sleep in the jeeps so we shall see.

Just got our Jeeps outfitted with new mattresses for overlanding and camping adventures! 🛻🏕️ Comfort meets the great outdoors – can’t wait to test them out on our trip next week. Also snagged a cool new Jeep t-shirt! Who’s ready for a road trip under the stars? 🌌
