I can not believe this is even a thing. After eight semesters and an internship, I still had so much to learn. But Colorado seems to think three semesters is enough education to produce the veterinary equivalent of a NP or a PA.... These paraprofessionals will be able to diagnose, vaccinate and perform surgery. Like spays, neuters, splenectomys and amputations... Surgery's that most fully trained and licensed veterinarians don't perform because they are complicated and the recovery should be in a 24 hour veterinary clinic not a shelter with no on there overnight. And these para professionals won't have a license. They will practice under a veterinarians license, my license. So if mistakes are made, it's my license that will be suspended... I can not begin to tell you what a bad idea this is. So please share with your friends in Colorado and get this shut down. Voting no in November is the only way to stop this.

Everyone wants to know how to prevent colic in their horses. The single most important thing is water. Clean fresh water at all times. It won't prevent every colic but it prevents most that I have ever seen in practice. If you won't drink it, it's not clean enough.
