So I will admit it’s a little anxiety producing determining just the right time to harvest watermelons.

We were on the fence about this one and thankfully it is so tasty! Very few seeds, so juicy, leaves you wanting more, you know the deal.

Hope the other ones are just as good at our Farm Stand this Saturday at 395 Clayville Road in Powhatan from 9 to noon.

The first of the melons are here! Join us at the Farm Stand this Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 PM at 395 Clayville Rd. in Powhatan for all sorts of safely grown goodness for your family.

Lots of sourdough bread varieties from Pawfect Pastures and locally roasted coffee from Batteaux!

Trying to tame the high temps and humidity in the High Tunnel with a fan and shade cloth. Doing our best to farm in this challenging summer! 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽 We so appreciate your support!

Here is the update. So in hindsight (and yes, somewhat predictably😞) the paper shrunk and moved from rain and high winds, even covering the plants , when we were away camping for two days. Only one pumpkin plant was a total loss, thankfully. 

As I shared in my video, perhaps more of a flat type of pin would have held better but maybe not adequately. 

You live and learn. And do it through us if you like. ☺️

Join us in an adventure of trying biodegradable paper mulch. So far, we already have mixed reviews. 🫤

In an effort to avoid more plastic we are trying this more eco-friendly approach. 🤞🏽

Those are 65 pumpkin plants in the ground. So worried about the heat, but desperately needed to be transplanted. 😳

Oh friends, this weather sure has made farming a bit more challenging. But we are still working hard to grow safe real food to help you reach your health goals.

As you can imagine, the deluge of rain has brought in lots of weeds! Whew!

But thankfully, we are still growing and harvesting plenty for the Farm Stand this evening from 5 to 7 PM at 395 Clayville Road in Powhatan!
