Job Description:
The Operations Manager is responsible for the daily operations and employee supervision on a regional level. This position will work closely with the Station Supervisors (where assigned), employees, and contract liaisons to ensure all duties and assignments are be completed per our contractual obligation. Additionally, they will ensure that all personnel maintain the highest level of professionalism, promotes a positive working environment by providing field personnel with guidance and consistent communications.
Essential Functions:
The Operations Manager shall be expected to perform the following tasks:
• Follow and enforce all ESS policies and procedures,
• Assure all employees have the required certifications and/or licenses as outlined by the Virginia Office of EMS or contracted agency OMD’s. Certifications and/or licenses shall be kept up-to-date in the Vairkko system with digital scanned copies.
• Works as part of the leadership team to ensure continuity, consistency and good lines of communications on all shifts.
• Functions as the primary first point of contact on weekday/weekends with emphasis on the weekend timeframe, monitoring station operations to ensure the delivery of quality services. This would include but not limited to station site visits for building and truck inspections, handling scheduling needs due to callouts or other open shifts, and various other duties.
• Evaluates, counsels and participates in disciplinary procedures.
• Investigates and provides resolutions for reported complaints.
• Act in the capacity of an ALS provider or driver in circumstances where no other coverage is available.
• Attend various meetings and training.
• Provide in-service and other training opportunities to staff members.
• Assists in the orientation and in-services training of new and current employees.
• Ensures documentation is accurate, proficient, and completed on-time per regulations through a robust QA/QI program. Provide feedback to employees.
• Works with their immediate superior to evaluate and resolve operational problems. Assist the agency supervisor in dealing with community and/or facility complaints.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

The individual in this position must possess the following qualifications:
• Two (2) years (full time equivalent) ambulance work experiences as an Advance Life Support provider (EMT-I or EMT-P)
• Must have strong clinical skills and the ability to precept employees.
• Hold and maintain a valid Virginia Department of Motor Vehicle license with good driving record.
• Intimate knowledge of the services areas for all contract locations to include by not limited to hospital locations and frequently utilized treatment centers.
• Be intimately knowledgeable to any locals, regional, or state EMS agency’s patient care protocols.
• Effective communications skills.
• Proficient with computers and various computer programs to include Microsoft Office Platform and various patient care reporting systems.
• Pervious leadership experience preferred.
Educational Requirements:
The individual in this position must possess the following minimum educational requirements:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Current Virginia EMT-Paramedic Licensure.
• Current CPR Healthcare Provider Certification
• Virginia approved EVOC

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally: Must have the ability to lift, carry and balance up to 150 pounds. Climbing numerous flights of stairs.
• Frequently: Good manual dexterity, with the ability to perform all tasks related to the position of Operations Manager.
• Constantly: Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, possess hand-eye-foot coordination and color recognition.

Environmental Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.

Compensation:
Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 / year
