Kathy is one of our newest residents. She has lived right down the road from Cedar Springs since she was a young child. Kathy received her nursing degree from the University of Arkansas and worked for 12 years at the Washington Regional Hospital.
Kathy retired early due to a medicerebral aneurysm that caused her to undergo a bilateral craniotomy. In layman terms, this was a surgery that operated on both sides of her brain.
Kathy compared her brain to a computer circuit motherboard, and how her inputs and outputs of information process differently than other people. Through this major life change, Kathy learned patience and was strengthened in her prayer life: “Do what you will Lord. My life is yours.”
Today, Kathy says she is the happiest she has ever been. Cedar Springs provides her with social interactions and friendships that she didn’t realize she needed. Additionally, she is thankful to have released the burden of home ownership and all the costs associated with it.
When Kathy visited our community, she was on a two-year plan to downsize. When asked what created the since of urgency, she replied: “The Future Is Now.”
Amen! And welcome home Kathy! We are happy you are here with us.
