"My two sons have both been patients of Dr. Gupta over the years.

My oldest has been seeing him for 25+ years now for treatment of his Cerebral Palsy. When another doctor at Children’s Mercy told us that he would never run and play with the children and that we needed to start looking at wheelchairs, we went to Dr. Gupta for a second opinion and have never regretted that decision. He took the time to explain the diagnosis, our options for treatment and then set us upon a course of action that we continue to follow to this day. Through multiple surgeries, including tendon releases, Botox injections and now nerve releases, our questions and concerns have been answered thoroughly, with kindness and compassion. My son walks independently, got to play soccer as a child, has ridden horses, helped to manage his college football team and graduated with honors, both undergraduate and MBA. I have not doubt that his trajectory would have been very different if we’d have just gone home and built that wheelchair ramp.

My youngest badly snapped his humerus, just above the growth plate when he was four. After rushing him to our local ER, they determined that he needed a pediatric orthopedic surgeon and were going to transport him to Children’s Mercy. I asked them to call 913-451-0000. ER doctor said, “You know one?” And I said yes, please call Dr. Gupta immediately. He took him in, as soon as we arrived, and stayed after hours until my son was X-rayed, cast and ready to come home.

Having had experience with both sides of this practice (ongoing treatment and emergency treatment) for over two decades, all I can say is that we are so blessed to have such an innovative, caring and dedicated physician as Dr. Gupta to work with. SO thankful for him and his entire team and would recommend him highly for your family member. He is truly a special doctor." -Annette
