Some people follow the crowd. Others create their own rhythm. When you meet Benjamin Golden, you quickly learn he isn’t interested in fitting into anyone else’s mold. As his mom Kristi says, “He definitely has his own drumbeat going.”

As we honor this month, we want to pause and reflect on how our work today is deeply connected to the African American advocates who made self-direction possible. We don't just support choice and independence—we stand on the shoulders of Black leaders who fought to ensure that people with disabilities could live, work, and thrive in their own communities.

Active Aging Week is an annual weeklong campaign aimed at celebrating and highlighting the positive aspects of aging. Yesterday we joined Milwaukee County's Youth Empowerment Resource Fair at the Vel Phillips Youth & Family Justice Center! 🎉

It was an amazing opportunity to connect with judges, human service workers, CLTS case managers, and other organizations dedicated to supporting youth and families in Milwaukee.

This marks our third resource event in the County this summer, and we're grateful for the chance to share more about the CLTS program and build strong community connections. 💙
