The #1 question I have been asked is what is reflexology and what to expect during a session.
What is Reflexology:
Reflexology is based on the idea that organs and parts of the body correspond with specific reflex areas on the feet, hands, and ears. Applying pressure to these specific points can reduce pain, anxiety, and stress, and promote circulation, relaxation, and healing in the body. The most common form of reflexology is foot reflexology.
The stimulation of the reflex areas in the foot triggers a response in the corresponding organs, promoting healing in that area of the body.
Reflexology reduces tension and stress throughout the body by initiating a relaxation response. It also improves nerve and blood supply throughout the body by improving the nervous and circulatory system. It also helps promote a state of balance in the body. Reflexology is not a substitute for medical care and we do not diagnose illness.
What to expect during treatment:
A Reflexology session generally starts with an overview of your medical history. You will have a relaxing foot bath with peppermint Epsom salt while enjoying complimentary water and chocolate, lay on a heated massage table fully clothed, except for your feet, with a cozy blanket . I will then work the reflex points on your feet that correspond with one side of the body and then continue to the other foot, until both feet have been treated. If I find pain, tightness, or energy blockage, pressure will be applied to promote healing. Generally, clients feel relaxed and even fall asleep during treatment.
Rest and drink water as necessary following treatment.,
