Prairie Maison had a busy and laughter-filled week!

Residents enjoyed lots of laughs this week with jiggle ball games, silly voices, jokes, and plenty of playful shenanigans 😄

Parachute play brought even more fun, with bouncing balls, a rubber chicken, and even a pig mysteriously disappearing and reappearing beside laughing residents.

Residents also made Rice Krispie bars while wearing gloves and hair nets, which led to plenty of jokes about their “fancy” outfits along the way.

The Resident Art Wall 🌸 continued to grow this week with even more meadow-themed creations, and puzzle time included a few surprise ambushes as residents tossed soft balls at unsuspecting staff walking by.

To wrap up the week, residents enjoyed sunrise stretches while swatting bubbles with fly swatters and pool noodles to the sound of 50’s music 🎶

It was a wonderful week full of creativity, laughter, and fun ❤️

National Nursing Home Week fun continued today at Prairie Maison with “Twinning is Winning” Day! 👯💙

Staff paired up and dressed as twins throughout the day, bringing plenty of laughs, creativity, and team spirit to the celebration.

We would also like to give a special thank you to Moments Hospice for stopping by and providing a generous snack table to help keep our hardworking staff fueled throughout the day. Your kindness and support are greatly appreciated!

Adding to the fun, our staff wheeled around a cart full of old-school candy that brought back all kinds of nostalgia while handing out sweet treats to staff throughout the day. 🍬😊

The fun isn’t over yet — tonight our 3rd shift staff will get a chance to join the celebration with a ring toss game featuring prizes generously donated by our amazing local business supporters.

Thank you to everyone helping make National Nursing Home Week so special for our staff and residents!

The fun continued yesterday at Prairie Maison as part of our National Nursing Home Week celebrations with “Flower Power” Day! 🌼✌️

Our staff dressed up as flower children and enjoyed a fun “Paint a Pot, Plant a Flower” activity that helped keep the week’s festivities growing.

We would like to give a very special thank you to:
🌱 Nelson Ace Hardware / Agri-Center in Prairie du Chien for generously providing the clay pots.
🌸 Doris’ Highway 52 Flowers in Garnavillo, Iowa for providing the flowers.

We are so grateful for the support from our wonderful local businesses who help make these National Nursing Home Week activities possible for our staff and residents!

💐 This past Saturday, Prairie Maison celebrated Mother’s Day with our “Muffins with Mom” gathering.

Residents, staff, and family members enjoyed delicious muffins, coffee, and punch while spending time together and sharing memories.

As part of the celebration, we talked about the history of Mother’s Day and reminisced about favorite gifts received over the years, thoughtful things done for mothers, and special family traditions. There were also plenty of stories shared about homemade desserts and favorite recipes that made Mother’s Day celebrations memorable.

It was a wonderful morning filled with conversation, memories, and appreciation for the mothers and mother figures who have meant so much to so many 💐❤️

We are so grateful for our amazing staff! 💚
During National Nursing Home Week, we want to take a moment to recognize the compassion, commitment, and daily dedication our team brings to Prairie Maison. Our nurses and staff make a lasting difference in the lives of our residents and families, and we appreciate each and every one of you.

To celebrate, we’ll be enjoying a week of staff activities, games with prizes, dress-up days, chair massages, and a cookout as a small way to say thank you for all you do.

Thank you for helping make Prairie Maison a place of care, connection, and belonging.

Prairie Maison had another fun week full of shenanigans!

We started off the week enjoying some fun in the sun ☀️ with trivia, scarves, bandanas, and plenty of jokes and laughter along the way.

Residents also had a great time playing bean bag toss, although not every throw made it to the board. A few bean bags and cloth balls took some unexpected detours toward staff instead, which only made everyone laugh harder.

One afternoon featured a pop-up craft session with music, where residents created beautiful flower arrangements for the dining room mantles while singing along to some classic 50’s country music 🌸🎶

We also enjoyed a special visit from the Seneca Area School District High School band. Residents loved listening to the students perform, and we appreciate them sharing their music and time with us.

To round out the week, we said goodbye to another group of nursing students 👩‍⚕️ Thank you for all of your help, kindness, and hard work. We wish you the best in your future careers.

Residents wrapped up the week with even more fun, as one side of the building played a swat ball game using fly swatters and balloons 🎈 while the other side competed to see who could roll the highest number.

It was another wonderful week filled with laughter, music, creativity, and good company ❤️

✨It’s been a fun week at Bluff Haven!✨

This week was a little quieter, but still filled with plenty of fun and favorite activities.

Residents enjoyed a few rounds of Left, Right, Center 🎲, one of our favorite dice games, along with plenty of Uno and a friendly game of Five in a Row.

We also celebrated Cinco de Mayo with happy hour 🌮🥂 featuring chips, salsa, cheese dip, and margaritas. Residents had fun playing a “Finish the Phrase” game along with a Cinco de Mayo-themed “Would You Rather” game that brought lots of laughs.

This month’s arts and crafts project included decorating vases with paint and plenty of glitter ✨ The finished projects turned out beautifully, especially after a resident’s daughter, Heidi, generously purchased tulips to place inside them 🌷

To wrap up the week, a small group of ladies enjoyed a game of Five in a Row while getting their nails painted.

It was a wonderful week filled with games, creativity, and good company ❤️
