EJ Movement LLC Our mission is to inspire clients to maximize their mind, body and spirit through the Pilates method. Emily Udelhofen started moving and shaking at a young age.

Growing up she was a gymnast and a dancer. In January of 2006, Emily took her first Pilates mat class and proceeded to sign up for the Core Dynamics Teacher Training program through Marissa Lins at Madison Pilates, LLC. After close to three years of intensive study, Emily received her Certification in October of 2008. She has studied with Marissa Lins, Margarette Raymond, Virginia Nicholas as well as Michele Larsson. Her love for Pilates comes from being able to work with all types of bodies. It allows every body (tall/short, wide/narrow, injured/healthy)
to find balance of mind and body through movement. She has worked with many bodies from herniated disks to double hip replacement to avid runners. All have experienced the benefits of a stronger core, longer musculature as well as improvement in posture and balance. Emily plans to continue her work as a Pilates Instructor and Movement Facilitator. My mission is to inspire clients to maximize their mind, body and spirit through the Pilates method. As a movement facilitator, I teach clients of every fitness level from healthy individuals to those with muscular imbalances and structural misalignment to move with confidence and comfort. I motivate my clients to work toward a balanced life style through healthy movement and healthy living.

The third exercise in Joe's Reformer Flow is the Overhead!
While the overhead exercise can be quite challenging and is considered an advanced movement, there are preparatory exercises and modifications that can help practitioners build the necessary strength and control to eventually perform it. It's purpose can be broken down into several key areas:
-Spinal Mobility and Warm-up
-Core and Abdominal Strength
-Upper Body and Shoulder Stability
-Coordination and Control
-Mind-Body Connection

Among the Pilates community, it is very well-known that Joe was a great teacher but a horrible business man.

When Romana inherited the studio after Joe's passing, she was left with a mountain of debt, unorganized papers, and a "satellite" studio. Clara did as much as she could to help, but there was only so much that could be done with the mess that Joe left.

Romana's main worry was to maintain the work Joe had done and to keep his legacy alive. She was passionate about the movement, and didn't want it to die.

This passion for the movement and teaching helped keep her clients away from the studio struggles. No one would've noticed through Romana's joy. Not to mention...

She passed around glasses of champagne to sip on during Friday afternoon classes to celebrate life! What a fun way to keep the community spirit high!

Marissa Lins has lived Pilates every day of her adult life. She began practicing and teaching Pilates at 18 years of age, after graduating from Sauk Prairie High School in 2000. She has grown up researching every aspect of the Pilates industry, from comprehensive training, history and philosophy, studio ownership and business practices, and licensing for post-secondary education. She attended both UW-Madison and UW-Stevens Point as a dance major and received her B.S. of Natural Health from Clayton College. Her love for Pilates and a passion to share it with others is evident in the following accomplishments:
-She operated Madison Pilates, Inc for ten years and expanded the studio four times since its original opening in 2004.
-She also founded the Midwest Pilates Institute Teacher Training Program in 2006 and is still in operation at Signature Pilates & Wellness in Prairie du Sac, WI.
-She has extensive experience in writing comprehensive Pilates curriculum for 450 hours, 500 hours, and 560 hours.
-In 2012 she published her first book Teaching Pilates: Comprehensive Manual a 300+ page, teaching guide with special additions such as “The Eve Gentry Technique” with over 80 Pre-Pilates exercises and an updated “History of Pilates” researched and authored by Pilates teacher Mejo Wiggins.
