Breastfeeding support group upcoming dates!!!

Summer is in full swing, but we will continue to have support groups offered every 1st and 3rd Friday (with the exception of July 4th - moved to Thursday, July 3rd) for postpartum/breastfeeding moms!

We offer weighed feedings, latch checks, and, of course, lots of love and support during this important time. Feel free to bring older siblings if needed.

Drop in anytime between 10 a.m. - 12 noon at 210 Medical Center Drive, Prattville AL!

We had our very first hydrotherapy labor in the hospital this past week—and it was beautiful.Using water during labor can help ease discomfort, reduce tension, and create a calming, gentle environment for birth. AJOG swooping in after midwives have been saying this for years!!

When compared with land birth, water birth does not appear to increase the risk of most maternal and neonatal complications. Like any other delivery method, water birth has its unique considerations and potential risks, which health care providers and expectant parents should evaluate thoroughly. However, with proper precautions in place, water birth can be a reasonable choice for mothers and newborns, in facilities equipped to conduct water births safely.

So basically - it’s considered safe when everyone is trained to do it and we use a strict risk assessment to be sure outcomes are stellar!

It’s not for everyone, but the choice should be in place for low-risk birthers ❤️❤️❤️

Mark your calendars for March 8th, 9am-3pm! Our team is offering free well-person visits to 20 individuals, along with health assessments, STI testing and Pap smears.

This clinic is specifically created for low-income and marginalized individuals, and has been made possible by the help of Yellowhammer Fund!
