The Idea Behind Alabama Massage Specialists
Hi, I’m Sandy Cauthen, licensed massage therapist and creator of Alabama Massage Specialists. By nature I am a servant, I love helping people in whatever capacity I can, and I love holistic medicine.
When I was young my grandfather exposed me to herbal remedies, natural cures, and reflexology to name a few things. He bought me a reflexology book as a teen and asked me if I would “learn it and heal us all”? I devoured every single drop I could from it and explored every, head, foot, and hand of anyone that would allow me. I made notes in the book on every “subject” I came in contact with. When we went to gatherings, people would come up to me placing their foot in my lap, explaining to everyone around how I had “healed” them of various ailments. I laughed at this, because, I hadn’t done anything, their bodies did the healing. I was just a tool. I loved it, and still do today. I have added many “tools” to my tool belt over the years to help ease the body and mind of complaints. My grandfather later offered to send me to massage school, but I was busy raising my children and the nearest school at the time was 3 hours away, so we had to wait. A long wait...I was 40 when I received my massage certification.
I am only one person and I cannot personally help everyone in need so I created a space where our community could find other trusted specialists to provide them with pain and stress relief; true caregivers. I’m very selective and hand picked the best that I could find to provide care to my community. Our atmosphere is vital to your healing; quiet, serene, quaint. We don’t offer products for sale so you never feel pressured or obligated to purchase things. Our specialists customize each visit, discussing your needs before hand and going over a plan of care afterwards, providing a space where you and your therapist can communicate as much as possible without worry of interrupting others.
