Saturday is Veterans' Day so in honor of our brave sisters and brothers we work along side of, I offer the following thanks....

We recognize the commitment you gave to our country when you signed up to serve,
More protection than we imagined, the security we all deserve.
The day you pledged to serve the country you love and want to protect,
Is the day you put your fellow countrymen first, true act of respect.
They taught you how to fight and how to keep us all from harm,
With not much more than some training and a trusty firearm.
This day is for you to hold your head up and to always remember,
The day you joined our armed forces and became a military member.
We can’t imagine the situations you had to go through whether you went to war or not,
The fact you put us all first to protect our freedom… was a true soldier’s thought.
Not all of you came home to your families happy and whole,
But instead gave the ultimate sacrifice, God bless your sweet souls.
The soldiers that did return to the country they proudly served,
Have issues of many and your unrest is clearly observed.
Not everyone is as lucky as we are….to work amongst the brave,

Do you know what a teal/blue pumpkin on a house's porch means at Halloween? It is designed to indicate families who have alternatives to candy such as glow sticks or small toys for their trick or treaters. They are for children or teens who may be dealing with food-allergies or restrictions on Halloween.

If a child is carrying a teal or blue pumpkin, the child may be non- verbal, have a food allergy or has autism. So be aware this Tuesday as you hand out candy that their maybe kids who want to be out with the others but candy may not be an option for them.
