The allergies are RAGING!!

The talk all over Prescott is Kenalog shots..
Who has them? Who doesn't?

Kenalog shots are sometimes used to manage severe seasonal allergies WHEN OTHER treatments aren’t providing enough relief. They can be very effective—but they’re not something to use casually, and understanding the benefits and risks is important.

💉 What is a Kenalog shot?
Kenalog is a corticosteroid injection that works by suppressing the immune system’s allergic response. Unlike daily allergy meds, one shot can provide relief for several weeks.

🌿 Benefits
• Long-lasting relief (often weeks to months)
• Helps with severe symptoms like intense congestion, itching, and swelling
• Can improve quality of life during peak allergy season when used with traditional allergy or asthma medications

⚠️ Risks & Side Effects
Because it’s a systemic steroid (affects your whole body), there are potential downsides:
• Suppressed immune system
• Weight gain or fluid retention
• Mood changes or sleep issues
• Increased blood sugar (important for diabetics)
• Bone thinning with repeated use
• Skin thinning, dimpling, or discoloration at the injection site

📅 How often can you get it?
Kenalog shots are generally not recommended more than once or twice per year for allergies.
