It is with great sadness to share the news of our "GOAT" NBISS MBIS MRBIS MBISS MOHBIS Platinum GCH CH H&H Hotrod, who passed away this morning. Born November 18, 2013 and crossed over the rainbow bridge, September 5th, 2024.
Hotrod was a formidable show dog, he truly enjoyed it and his competitors knew they had to be on their top game to beat him! He was also a great ambassador, who opened doors and introduced us to the most amazing folks, and especially chihuahua fanciers throughout the entire world.
Hotrod never cared whether he won or lost, just that he got to go to the show! He never cared about a raise in his treats, he always loved working for those chicken cookies!
Hotrod loved to travel and hang out at the shows. It was no problem for him, if he had won the breed and was waiting for the group, you could catch him upside down in his crate, sawing zzz's.
Hotrod has produced 19 Champion get to date, with a couple more that might achieve champion titles.

Hotrod was #1 for three years in a row!
Hotrod was not feeling well for the last couple of months, and with many vet visits, we kept trying and failing at finding a better result for him. He had a persistant cough, which we had checked again and again for Heart and Trachea issues, but that wasn't it. Last week, after several new xrays, a different vet diagnosed him with allergic bronchitis, I thought we were going to kick this, but sadly the medications did not help. Today, during his last visit, the vet said he had an elevated diaphragm, which explained his shortness of breath, and maybe years of snoring, but sadly this diagnosis was just too late to aid us. Ironically, Elevated diaphragm is what Todd had surgery on earlier this year.
We brought him home for the last time, today. He was calm and comfortable, at home and when I told him he was the GOAT of Chihuahuas, he nodded to himself, saying, "I know!"
RIP, Hotrod, until we meet again.
