A Picture is worth a thousand words. I forgot how happy I was when I was sober. The relationships with family and friends were amazing. Then fear came knocking and I ran to what i knew best, substance.
After a year clean I’ve realized you must embrace the demons that live inside all of us, some worse than others. Everyone has something going on so it’s a choice to respond. Imagine if my father had quit when he was my age… he would never but if didn’t make a change I would Be explaining to my kid one day that I gave up. Why? Cause i got soft for a bit. I think comfort is just as addicting as drugs.
Nonetheless im going home today to see my family. The same love you see in these pictures from 10 years ago will be there. GOD is GREAT!
